Prayer Requests 4-3-19

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajissun and the folks in The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 59

Deliver me from my enemies, O God;
    be my fortress against those who are attacking me.
Deliver me from evildoers
    and save me from those who are after my blood.

See how they lie in wait for me!
    Fierce men conspire against me
    for no offense or sin of mine, Lord.
I have done no wrong, yet they are ready to attack me.
    Arise to help me; look on my plight!
You, Lord God Almighty,
    you who are the God of Israel,
   rouse yourself to punish all the nations;
    show no mercy to wicked traitors.

They return at evening,
    snarling like dogs,
    and prowl about the city.
See what they spew from their mouths—
    the words from their lips are sharp as swords,
    and they think, “Who can hear us?”
But you laugh at them, Lord;
    you scoff at all those nations.

You are my strength, I watch for you;
    you, God, are my fortress,
10 my God on whom I can rely.

   God will go before me
    and will let me gloat over those who slander me.
11 But do not kill them, Lord our shield,
    or my people will forget.
   In your might uproot them
    and bring them down.
12 For the sins of their mouths,
    for the words of their lips,
    let them be caught in their pride.
   For the curses and lies they utter,
13 consume them in your wrath,
    consume them till they are no more.
   Then it will be known to the ends of the earth
    that God rules over Jacob.

14 They return at evening,
    snarling like dogs,
    and prowl about the city.
15 They wander about for food
    and howl if not satisfied.
16 But I will sing of your strength,
    in the morning I will sing of your love;
   for you are my fortress,
    my refuge in times of trouble.

17 You are my strength, I sing praise to you;
    you, God, are my fortress,
    my God on whom I can rely.

  1. A has an ugly itchy rash that is very uncomfortable and looks awful.

    NICU sent her to ER on Monday.

    They couldn’t figure out what it is, floated ideas, gave her Benadryl and prednisone, to,d her to see her GP and then a Dermatologist.

    She read up on some of the guesses and one of them starts as a round patch on the abdomen and then goes on. It’s a virus that can last 2 weeks to 6 months.

    One of the potential complications can be premature labor.

    She saw such a patch 2 weeks ago.

    GP didn’t know, referred her to Derm. They’ll let her know when they have an appointment.

    I told her to explain about the NICU in hopes of getting someone to help sooner than 3 months from now.

    Could you pray it heals and goes away?

    Baby seems unaffected, no one seems worried about her, but A is miserable on top of a stressful situation with two girls who can’t visit the baby, husband back to work part time, pumping, spending half the day in the NICU and so forth.

    Other than that, E is gaining weight, improving with the nursing, doesn’t need the incubator closed and spends her time sleeping, eating and growing.

  2. I have two days left of clinical. In one of them (not sure which) I will receive my final evaluation. I do not know what that will be, as the nurse I work with is erratic, alternately positive and negative in attitude toward me. The supervisor from the school is supposed to meet, finally, with the nurse. I have seen the nurse put on a facade before. Pray for truth and the Lord’s will to be done.
