  1. Stating the obvious. And while Lindsey won’t play along, the McCain family seems happy to.

  2. Read from the Qu’ran to start the session, get loud applause from Democrats.

Follow that up with a prayer to Jesus?

    You’re a bigot.

Now I’ve looked all over for the entire video, but no one seems to be putting the whole thing out there. Which leads me to believe, it’s not as offensive as they say. They’re simply offended by who the prayer was to.

“Pennsylvania state Democrats branded as “offensive” a Republican’s decision Monday to open a voting session with a prayer and a thank-you to President Trump for supporting Israel, with some Dems claiming to be “horrified” by the remarks and accusing the female lawmaker of Islamophobia.

State Rep. Stephanie Borowicz, a Republican and associate pastor’s wife who was elected to the state House in November, was accused of bigotry after she invoked the name of Jesus at least 13 times just before the Legislature swore in its first Muslim woman at the Statehouse in Harrisburg.

“God forgive us — Jesus — we’ve lost sight of you, we’ve forgotten you, God, in our country, and we’re asking you to forgive us,” Borowicz said added. She then praised President Trump for his support of Israel.

“I claim all these things in the powerful, mighty name of Jesus, the one who, at the name of Jesus, every knee will bow, and every tongue will confess, Jesus, that you are Lord, in Jesus’ name,” Borowicz said.

Democrats slammed her for the prayer. Rep. Movita Johnson-Harrell, the Muslim lawmaker who was sworn in at the Statehouse, accused Borowicz of using her religion against her.”

““Jesus, we’ve lost sight of you. We’ve forgotten you, God, in our country, and we’re asking you to forgive us, Jesus,” Borowicz said as she offered the prayer at the opening of session day at the Pennsylvania House of Representatives on Monday.

The freshman lawmaker is facing backlash for the prayer as it comes on the same day the house swore in its first female Muslim member.

“That we’re blessed because we stand by Israel, and we ask for the peace of Jerusalem as your word says, God,” continued Borowicz.

Borowicz, who serves the 76th District that covers Clinton and Centre counties, is being criticized by some who see the prayer as an attack on Democratic State Rep. Motiva Johnson-Harrell.

In Lock Haven, Borowicz has an office on East Main Street. Jeff Schlesinger owns the radio station across the street.

“Supporting your own faith?” said Schlesinger. “I think you should. I mean, she didn’t say anything negative. She’s just telling what she believes.””

  3. More bad news for Dems and NTers. 🙂

“A majority of registered voters in a new poll say they would consider voting President Trump into a second term.

Fifty-four percent in the Hill-HarrisX survey released Monday said they would think about voting for Trump, though 46 percent of registered voters said they would not even consider casting a ballot for the president.

The polling was conducted before a summary of special counsel Robert Mueller’s conclusions was released on Sunday by Attorney General William Barr. That summary reported that Mueller did not find evidence of collusion between Trump’s campaign and Russia, a huge win for the president.

People who said they backed Trump in 2016 are likely to back him again.

Ninety-five percent of respondents who said they had picked Trump in his first run for office said they could find a reason vote for him again in 2020.

The vast majority of respondents who cast ballots for Trump’s former Democratic rival, Hillary Clinton, said they would not vote to re-elect him, though a somewhat sizable minority is at least open to the idea.”

“Taliban Fighters Freed From Guantanamo Now Face U.S. in Peace Talks”

“The five senior members of the Afghan Taliban who were freed from the Guantanamo Bay prison camp in exchange for Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl in 2014 now face American diplomats and military officials in peace talks over the terms of an American troop withdrawal from Afghanistan.

The Taliban has been sure to involve the former prisoners in the talks, including each day during the recent round of negotiations with American diplomats and generals in Doha, Qatar, the New York Times reported Tuesday.

“During our time in Guantanamo, the feeling was with us that we had been brought there unjustly and that we would be freed,” one of the former prisoners, Mullah Khairullah Khairkhwa, told the Times. “But it never occurred to me that one day there would be negotiations with them, and I would be sitting there with them on one side and us on the other.”

Khairkhwa and four other fighters were held at Guantanamo for 13 years, before the Obama administration released them in a prisoner exchange for Bergdahl, the only known American soldier who the Taliban kept as a prisoner of war. Bergdahl walked off his base in 2009, when the Taliban captured him and subsequently held him prisoner for five years. In October 2017, Bergdahl pleaded guilty to desertion and misbehavior before the enemy.”

“61 Hacks Who Peddled Russian Collusion And Should Never Be Trusted Again

Now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has closed the door on Russian collusion hysteria, let’s take a look back at the Most Mistaken Men and Women in America.”

“Since 2016, some big names—both inside the government and out—have peddled the Trump-Russia collusion conspiracy with such vigor you’d think they invested their life savings in Reynolds Metal Company. Now that Special Counsel Robert Mueller has closed the door on such hysteria, let’s take a look back at the Most Mistaken Men and Women in America (and the world).”

  6. Duke will be paying a $100 million+ settlement for their bogus science. I’d love to see them pursue more universities for their faked global warming data too.

    https://legalinsurrection.com/2019/03/duke-university-to-pay-over-100-million-in-settlement-for-fake-research/

“There are many serious ramifications in pursuing science that fits a narrative instead of collecting data, then deriving proper theories from real data.

One of the consequences, especially in this seemingly new era of real justice that we are now enjoying, is that cheating scientists can get caught and punished.
For example, Duke University will now pay the U.S. government $112.5 million in a settlement related to the submission of faked to win federal research grants. A whistle-blower is also going to enjoy a big reward, instead of fired or otherwise punished.

The settlement will also bring a $33.75 million payment to Joseph Thomas, the whistleblower who drew attention to the fraud when he worked for Duke.

Thomas, a former Duke lab analyst, sued the university on behalf of the federal government, saying that a Duke researcher fudged data to help the university win and keep lucrative grants from two agencies, the National Institutes of Health and the Environmental Protection Agency.

The dozens of grants in question covered the study of the lung function of mice. The Justice Department says Thomas’ lawsuit alleged that “between 2006 and 2018, Duke knowingly submitted and caused to be submitted” claims to federal agencies that were unknowingly paying grant money for falsified research data. It adds that while the agreement settles the court case, it does not mean Duke has been determined liable.

The researcher responsible for the data has a long history of being a cheat.

Former Duke researcher Erin Potts-Kant conducted the alleged fraud from 2006 to 2013. She was fired for embezzling money from the university, which happened during the same period, according to Duke. After her firing, her research was scrutinized, which led to the retractions of 17 scientific papers, according to RetractionWatch.

Her findings were used to support the request for millions of dollars in grant money that was ultimately given to the institution.”
    ———————

“Lung function in mice exposed to pollutants would be of interest to the green justice advocated in the Environmental Protection Agency, hoping to create even more controls and more rules to support an ever-expanding bureaucracy. By funding Potts-Kant’s work, what other worthy projects have been neglected, including those that may have really benefited the American people.

Legal Insurrection has covered a wide array of fraudulent theories passed off as real science: Food rules, polar bear populations, tampered-with temperature data, plastic pollution in the ocean, just to name a few.”

  7. Republicans are calling for the resignation of the treasonous fraud and repeated liar known as Rep. Adam Schiff. 🙂

    https://www.mediaite.com/online/rep-mike-conaway-confronts-adam-schiff-in-explosive-house-hearing-we-urge-your-immediate-resignation/

“The calls from Republicans for Rep. Adam Schiff (D-CA) to step down as head of the House Intelligence Committee have been loud — in the days following the release of the four-page Mueller report summary. On Thursday, the call was made right to the Congressman’s face in an explosive clash.

At the outset of a House intel hearing on Thursday morning, Rep. Mike Conaway (R-TX) called for Schiff to step down — a call which he said was supported by all nine Republican members of the committee.

“Your actions, both past, and present are incompatible with your duty of the chairman of this committee — which alone, in the House of Representatives — has the obligation and authority to provide effective oversight of the U.S. Intelligence community,” Conaway said. “As such we have no faith in your ability to discharge your duties in a manner consistent with your Constitutional responsibility and urge your immediate resignation as chairman of the committee. Mr. Chairman, this letter is signed by all nine members of the Republican side of the committee, and I ask unanimous consent that it be entered into the record at today’s hearing.”

  8. Kizzie,

Looks like more tariffs are needed. Without Trump’s tariffs, those numbers would be even worse.

Reigning in The Fed would help too. 4 rate increases in a year is a bit much, especially when the stated goal was to slow the finally rebounding economy.

    ———-

“Simultaneously, the Federal Reserve raised interest rates four times last year to offset fears of an overheating economy, thereby increasing the strength of the dollar and encouraging purchase of relatively inexpensive foreign goods.

This is the third consecutive year of increasing trade deficits, topping the previous record in 2006. But while that might be of concern for Trump, many economists disagree with his emphasis on reducing the deficit. They suggest such deficits are not a reflection of American trading relationships, but rather simply a reflection of a variety of economic forces.”

  9. AJ – That article seemed pretty balanced to me, as it reported the facts without Trump-bashing, and included that part at the end that you quoted.

Thanks for sharing that piece last night that linked to the police reports on the Jussie Smollett case. YA and I were in a discussion (actually fairly respectful on her part – and mine, too, of course) about the case. She truly believed his story, and thought the various questions being asked (such as how those guys just happened to be out there with the noose and the bleach at 2am) had easy answers and were being asked in bad faith.

She thinks that if he were being stalked, they could easily have been ready with those items to attack him. That is a possibility, but really seems unlikely, especially since he is such a minor celebrity, one that many folks have never heard of.
