Prayer Requests 3-22-19

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 48

Great is the Lord, and most worthy of praise,
    in the city of our God, his holy mountain.

Beautiful in its loftiness,
    the joy of the whole earth,
   like the heights of Zaphon is Mount Zion,
    the city of the Great King.
God is in her citadels;
    he has shown himself to be her fortress.

When the kings joined forces,
    when they advanced together,
they saw her and were astounded;
    they fled in terror.
Trembling seized them there,
    pain like that of a woman in labor.
You destroyed them like ships of Tarshish
    shattered by an east wind.

As we have heard,
    so we have seen
   in the city of the Lord Almighty,
    in the city of our God:
   God makes her secure
    forever.

Within your temple, O God,
    we meditate on your unfailing love.
10 Like your name, O God,
    your praise reaches to the ends of the earth;
    your right hand is filled with righteousness.
11 Mount Zion rejoices,
    the villages of Judah are glad
    because of your judgments.

12 Walk about Zion, go around her,
    count her towers,
13 consider well her ramparts,
    view her citadels,
   that you may tell of them
    to the next generation.

14 For this God is our God for ever and ever;
    he will be our guide even to the end.

  1. Jenna’s update on Josh:

    “Please continue to pray for healing, answers and no lasting affects. The day started with Joshua’s temp reaching 106. In order to control his temp a paralysis medicine had to be administered to stop him from shivering from them trying to cool him down. His temp was brought in control and maintained. A spinal tap was done to test for bacterial and viral infections but they had already started antibiotic and viral meds. The tests came back negative for any of the normal infections but they have cultures being done for more and possible auto immune. They are now working to take him off the paralysis medicine while keeping his temp less than 102 with a combo of other measures.”

    Also, please continue to pray for Mary’s (“mmacmurray” from WMB) SIL Laurel. She was very seriously ill and will be a long time recovering.

  2. And then I just came across the latest update about Laurel, written by her husband, I think:

    “The TENTATIVE date of Laurel’s return home is during the first week of April. She’ll need trips in for dialysis for a while until her kidneys recover their functioning (I’m trusting that God will bring that back to her!), and PT and OT will continue, but the light at the end of the tunnel seems to be visible at last. We hope! She sent home notes with me to each of the boys today. The boys loved them. ❤ …

    We’re doing what we can to be ready for her return. ❤ We simply cannot thank you all enough for your gifts and your prayers. To God be the glory, great things He has done!”

  3. Another update from Jenna:

    “Keep praying for healing, answers and no side affects. Joshua has been off of all sedation and paralysis meds for a while but is not awake. He was on such high doses of those that it will take a while for them to be out of his system. His temp went back up to 102.8 and has been staying at 102.5 for a while. They just did and eeg so now we are waiting for the neurologist to read those. They will probably do another ct scan on his head to see if there are any changes. He was responsive to the doctor when he yelled for him to open his eyes. They didn’t all the way, but have a couple of times during certain situations but not all the way with focus. Still no answers but he is getting amazing care.”

  4. And another one 😦 :

    “Ct scan came back normal. Waiting on EEG results. His temp has gone back up to 103.4 so they are going to put him back on sedative because of shivering from the cooling wraps/blanket. Still have nothing that is known yet on why the temp. praying for healing, answers and no side affects.”
