  1. We can pray for them here, Tychicus. However, I was temporarily confused when I opened the thread.

In the mornings, I turn on FoxNews to see if anything had happened during the night.
They were talking about the Governor of Virginia.
They just told me all I need to know.
    There is no news today.
    That’s good.

  2. I hope people can stop looking back at yearbooks and posts from adolescence and get on with more important things. Such nonsense. I don’t care what party they are in.

  3. More flack over disgraceful yearbook photos–but of an adult man in medical school? You bet he should have known better– than the same doctor after years of “service” not having a problem with infanticide/abortion.

Regardless of what happens with his political career, would you use him as your pediatrician after this?

  4. I had to chuckle when he said during his news conference that he was “horrified” when he looked at the photo after the story broke last night.

Politically speaking, I’ll bet he was 🙂

  5. You people are too young to remember this. But years ago, they used to talk about “growing ourselves out of the national debt.”

  6. The problem with these is the truth always comes later. Even if this is true, it’s too late, the damage is done, and you still black faced pretending to be MJ. Not cool man.

  7. War good.

    Orange man bad.

Democrats, still frauds, no matter what you call them.

“Democratic voters, long opposed to the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, now disagree with President Trump’s call to withdraw troops in Afghanistan and Syria, according to a new survey.

And the likely reason they have flipped is simply to oppose the president.”

“The poll analysis called it a “stunning reversal” of years of results where Democrats wanted troops withdrawn from U.S.-led wars.”

  8. And remember folks……

    THIS is CNN.

  9. Showcasing her strengths……

    Or not….

  10. I am not a fan of Gov. Northam, but I do not think he should be forced to resign over a stupid college kid thing from 35 years ago. We weren’t as “woke” then as we are now.

If this trend of exposing missteps (some worse than others) from years past continues, the current generation who posts everything on social media will be toast when they try to run for a political office, or become a celebrity or public figure of some sort.

  11. The Jessie Smollett case……

There’s a lesson to be learned here, true or not……

When you deal in hate and direct it at others, it has a way of returning to you. I won’t post his tweets because he has a foul mouth, but you can view their hatefulness here. He talks a good game about “leading with love,” but he doesn’t follow his own advice. I can muster zero sympathy.

And it may just be another hoax.

“As more information about the alleged hate-crime investigation began circulating on Wednesday evening, it showed that once again journalists, politicians and celebrities might have run too hard and too soon with another unfounded allegation. Much like in “The Truth About The Lincoln Memorial Incident,” accurate reporting can come only with time, but that didn’t stop media figureheads from lambasting all Trump-supporters, again.

Smollett, an actor on a television show, Empire, claimed he was attacked during the early hours on Monday by two people he could not give descriptions of, not even as to their sex. He claimed they hurled racial and homophobic insults as they assaulted him and then proceeded to pour an “unknown liquid” on him before wrapping a thin rope around his neck.

Smollett then told police he went to his friend’s apartment with the rope still around his neck and continued to wear it until police were dispatched 45 minutes later. Upon their arrival, Smollett asked them to turn off their body camera recordings. During the initial interview, no mention was made indicating that the attackers were Trump-supporters but TMZ ran the headline “Attackers Shouted ‘MAGA Country'” anyway. When police were asked to verify this, they could not, and so they followed up with Smollett, where he then stated that the perpetrators did yell the confusing sentiment.

Before waiting for more information, Kamala Harris, who had an established relationship with the actor, and Cory Booker took to Twitter, where they both offered support to the actor as well as phrasing his attack as a “modern-day lynching.” Many accused the two senators of using the incident to promote their anti-lynching legislation despite the fact that no lynching occurred, even if all of Smollett’s accusations are true.

More celebrities joined in, and articles began circulating that it was a “racially charged hate crime” even though the sexes and races of the perpetrators were not known to police or Smollett.

Wednesday evening, the AP released a statement from the Chicago police that said, “We haven’t seen anybody, at this point, matching the description he gave. Nobody looks menacing, and we didn’t find a container anywhere,” a reference to a container for the liquid that the actor said was thrown at him. This was after law enforcement reviewed hundreds of hours of surveillance recordings from dozens of businesses in the area where Smollett claimed that the attack happened. A city with almost 20,000 public cameras, indicative of an Orwellian dystopia, had captured no physical evidence that a crime had occurred.

Police later Wednesday night released two photos of “persons of interest” but did not imply that they were suspects of the attack. The grainy images showed a pair walking down a street with no distinguishing features or holding any objects, nor was Smollett in the frames. Chicago police issued the “community alert” since the pair in the video stills could not be identified and there had been an implication of a hate crime. They also reiterated that they still had no proof that confirmed Smollett’s story.”

  12. Northam: it’s politically not survivable in this current climate, right or wrong.

I do think this happening in the 1980s (black face and KKK, even as a spoof in a yearbook) was odd and definitely behind the times, though maybe some states are different.

  13. DJ – Yeah, someone should have caught that.

But there are people like that poor man in every district, so I don’t think it is fair to put the blame on Harris. (Not saying you were, DJ, but that the tweet alleged that.)

I cringed at “HeelsUpHarris”. That is crude and rude of Woods to post.

  14. OK, done impersonating Tychicus. 🙂

    Crude and rude?

But also accurate. Her political sugar daddy, the married at the time Willie Brown, even admits this. He also admits to giving her appointments because of their relationship. And then she even admits she tossed him when he was no longer useful to her career. She owns it.

“Former San Francisco Mayor Willie Brown addressed his past relationship with Sen. Kamala Harris in a letter to the San Francisco Chronicle on Saturday and acknowledged giving her appointments that furthered her career.

“Yes, we dated. It was more than 20 years ago,” wrote Brown, who said he had “been peppered with calls from the national media about my ‘relationship’ with Kamala Harris, particularly since it became obvious that she was going to run for president.”

Harris’ office did not immediately respond to USA TODAY’s request for comment on Brown’s letter to the Chronicle.

Brown was married at the time he and Harris dated, but – because he had been “estranged from his wife” Blanche Brown since 1981, according to People magazine –the relationship was not kept secret. A Sacramento Bee reporter told People that Brown “had a succession of girlfriends” and would “go to a party with his wife on one arm and his girlfriend on the other.”

A 1994 Los Angeles Times report about then-California Assembly Speaker Brown’s “rush to hand out patronage jobs” described Harris as Brown’s “frequent companion” and said several people referred to her as Brown’s girlfriend. That report also cited a column from the Chronicle’s Herb Caen that called Harris “the Speaker’s new steady.” When they met, she was 29 and Brown was 60.

  15. That’s quite a list. 🙂

Now just imagine how much more could have been accomplished, were it not for NTers and Democrats.

    Trump 2020!

  16. Fear. 🙂

    Their desperation is showing.

“FEAR: Democrats, Media, Never-Trumpers Continue to Pile On Howard Schultz

He’s liberal, but he’s not buying Democrat socialism, so his independent run presents a threat to uniting the left against Trump.”

“For two solid years, Democrats and their media allies have called Trump a threat to Democracy.

Now many of the same people are in full meltdown mode and are even threatening boycotts of Starbucks because a successful businessman might run as an independent, which they believe will hurt their chances.

    Alex Seitz-Wald of NBC News:

The Democratic Party’s public enemy No. 1: Howard Schultz

He’s only been in the 2020 presidential fray for two days, but Howard Schultz has already accomplished the near-impossible: He’s united the Democratic Party.

    Against him.

Everyone even loosely affiliated with the party, from billionaire centrist Michael Bloomberg to the hard lefties at Justice Democrats, has paused their ideological infighting to join together in open season on the coffee mogul and his potential independent presidential bid.

The hostility is prompted by a fear that Schultz, the ex-Starbucks CEO, would split the anti-Trump vote and get the president re-elected. The threat might be overblown, but the fear and anger is real, especially since Trump himself reportedly sees Schultz as an asset to his campaign.

“We are focused on defeating Donald Trump, and anyone who shares that goal should vote for the Democrat nominee in 2020,” said Democratic National Committee spokesperson Xochitl Hinojosa.

One of the other reasons Democrats don’t like Schultz is because he is one of them, but doesn’t share their desire to lurch to the left. As a result, he reminds voters just how far Democrats have drifted as a party and they don’t like that.

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez wants to know where he gets the nerve. Jenna Amatulli writes at the Huffington Post:

Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez Pushes Back At Howard Schultz After He Scorns Her Tax Plan”

    He’s such a principled fake conservative. ☝
