Peter’s Pack of Pickled Pigskin Picks 2018 Week 12
It’s Week 12. And since AJ picked a small college rivalry game, I have decided that this is Small College Week. Two reason: Why not? And we need a break from the usual, don’t we? Well, there are a few “big” schools in the list for those who need that fix.
Next week has a lot of rivalries for the big schools, so we’ll do those then. But this week, enjoy the challenge, even though I did a little research to see which teams have the better records.
Get the guesses in by NOON EST Saturday. (This time I double checked to make sure no games are on Friday.)
Army
Harvard (we have a scholarship there)
San Diego (where is Marist?)
Prairie View
Idaho State
Western Illinois
Northern Iowa
North Dakota
UTEP
Lafayette 30-21
Mumsee- Some of the teams are “big” schools this time, but most are in the D1-AA level. And Marist is in Poughkeepsie, NY. So the California team has to play in the snow tomorrow.
Now for the winning entry:
Colgate – clean teeth and all.
Harvard – my BA is from a school that calls itself “The Harvard of the Midwest”.
San Diego – Beautiful campus
Prairie View
Weber State
Western IL – The Leathernecks, what a mascot.
UNI Panthers!
No. Arizona – They have a Lumberjack statue at the entrance.
W Kentucky
Lehigh 14-10
Army
Harvard
San Diego (Though I lived in Los Angeles I took the SAT at USD – long story…)
Prairie View
Weber State
Western Illinois
Northern Iowa
North Dakota
Western Kentucky
Lafayette 31-21 (once again I set aside family loyalty – my dad went to Lehigh)
This was a good week for selecting “seldom seen” schools. The other schools are playing softies to get ready for the big boys next week (e.g. SC plays Chattanooga this week, Clemson next.)
Also, Florida is playing Idaho. But Citadel had ‘Bama tied 10/10 at halftime. It’s 24/10-Bama now.
Funny you say that, mumsee, since he did much better than you. He and I are tied with 7 right now. You have 5. The Pillow Fight will decide the winner, and right now WKU is up 40-0 at the half. If that holds then I win.

Kevin – you should have gone with family this time. Final score Lehigh 34-3.

Yeah, I saw that. If I’d gone with Lehigh, you probably still would have one based on the score. Congratulations!

I meant perhaps you still would have won.based on the score. Or perhaps you still would have been number one…

Oh, but mumsee, some people think it is. After all, I don’t hand out participation awards.
And this week I am the winner since no one else picked Lehigh. You can verify the actual scores yourself here: http://www.espn.com/college-football/schedule/_/group/81
Results:
I had 8.
Kevin and Mike had 7.
Chas and Mumsee 5.
AJ 4.
The next Picks will come early since it is Rivalry Week and one of the games is Thursday night.
