  1. 😦 The Kavenaugh hearing. Never would I have thought I would see such vicious, sanctimonious nonsense in our government. Never would I have thought we would see people spouting such nonsense as “we should believe all women.” Or a senator telling all old white men they need to shut up. We are reaping what we have sown in our educational institutions and it is ugly and will get uglier. I am sorry for both my granddaughter and my grandsons. None of this is truly a surprise in that it is the way of humanity and our propensity to sin and rebelliousness. It is sad nevertheless.

  2. Do people actually watch this garbage on television?

We only see TV when we stay in hotels and it is appalling!

One spin through and it’s back to the books.

My poor husband—the only football is high school?

  3. Before he died, my dad gave me a bunch of movie camera film of stuff he has recorded. I did nothing with it for years, but recently sent them off to Legacy Box and had them transferred. In this case, a thumb drive. Chuck has the thumb drive but I have it on CD. Mostly poor photography and pictures of clouds from airplanes.. Junk like that. But some of it is memorable of my mother and dad, chuck as a toddler, and my sister and her family. It is 90% useless junk, but the other 10% make it worthwhile.

  4. 🙂 Usually in the Midwest I don’t like fall all that much (since winter will be coming soon and that is easily my least favorite season–interestingly, it was even my least favorite season in Arizona) . . . but this year we are farther south, we’re surrounded by trees and I am guessing it will be exquisite in a few weeks, and I have several other reasons to look forward to fall. For once, I’m even enjoying the weather of early fall rather than its being a reminder of winter.

🙂 We got a whole bunch of coupons for free things when we moved here. So far we have gotten a free pizza, six donuts, a pint of ice cream, a deli sandwich, and a baby dress (I could have bought something for myself, but I just spent half of the $20 and got a baby dress instead). We still have another pizza coupon that has a month left on it, and we allowed one coupon to expire since it was eat-in-only and my husband didn’t feel like pizza.

🙂 It was so much fun yesterday to watch a large flock of cedar waxwings, with birds in just about every tree on both sides of me at one point. And tiny little birds (none of the really exotic warblers, and not in a place I can get photos) keep landing in the bush right outside my office window.

🙂 A good look at a snapping turtle–from a good safe distance (above)–was pretty cool, too.

🙂 This afternoon we have our first church picnic with our new church.

🙂 I have much-needed editing projects coming in.

😦 Nothing to rant about. 🙂

  5. I understand, Kizzie. It will be a hard time. I still struggle with Christmas as my husband left two days before. But take time also to be proud of yourself and how well you have done in your new world.

  6. Thank you, all.

Yes, I am kind of proud of myself for how far I have come in this new world, but mostly I am so very grateful to God for being with me and seeing me through.
