Prayer Requests 7-3-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 119:169-176

ת Taw

169 May my cry come before you, Lord;
give me understanding according to your word.
170 May my supplication come before you;
deliver me according to your promise.
171 May my lips overflow with praise,
for you teach me your decrees.
172 May my tongue sing of your word,
for all your commands are righteous.
173 May your hand be ready to help me,
for I have chosen your precepts.
174 I long for your salvation, Lord,
and your law gives me delight.
175 Let me live that I may praise you,
and may your laws sustain me.
176 I have strayed like a lost sheep.
    Seek your servant,
for I have not forgotten your commands.

  1. Nightingale is on her way to check out a car she is interested in buying, in a town in Massachusetts, about 45 or so minutes away. Please pray for her to have wisdom in whether or not to buy the car, that she won’t be taken advantage of or sold a lemon, and for her safety, as it is a private seller. Thank you.

Also, please pray that there will be an easy fix to a little glitch on my online bank page. Thanks.

  2. I’ve been having trouble lately with muscle weakness, dizzy spells, and a heart that sometimes feels like it’s thumping hard in my chest. I’d appreciate prayers. Thanks.

  3. Nightingale says it turned out to be not a private seller, but a small auto body shop. She’s going to look up reviews of them.

Without me explaining the whole reason why, could y’all pray that Chickadee will come over today, even if it means having to spend the night? (Nightingale will be camping out in the backyard with a friend and her daughter, and The Boy, of course, so would not be able to give her a ride back, and we don’t yet know if any of the McKs will be able to pick her up tonight.)

  4. Some cars have CarFax database records, too — my Jeep did and now it’s being kept up by my mechanic online, so there’s a complete record of what’s been done to a car and when. It really does take the scariness out of buying a used car.

Pray for my painter’s mom who’s in the hospital after she hit her head in a fall. She’s in her 80s and they’re being careful to do numerous CT scans to make sure no bleeding is occurring (there was a small spot initially, not sure if that’s cleared up with treatment or not).

  5. I would appreciate prayers. I just found out my mom will be moving (with my sister) to Florida before next Tuesday. I had no idea this move would be so soon. There is a lack of any kind of communication and I found out about the move on a general fb comment. I thought she would be moving this fall, since that was what I heard last.

We are having a ninetieth birthday party for my mom on Saturday night. Please pray that I control my mouth; speak the truth in love and do whatever I should do. It will help that I will have two of my daughters and some of my grandchildren here for the party.

  6. Pray for a special friend of mine at church, John, who has fallen in his garage and broken a hip — he had a hip replacement for the other one about 3-4 years ago.

He and his wife have been very good about always checking in with me and the job and the house. He’s British, had a long career in radio and travel journalism (worked for the airlines as well, and was an aspiring actor back in the 60s when he was — though he still is — incredibly handsome).

They’ve taken him to the hospital but he’s allergic to morphine & is in a lot of pain. 😦

  7. He also writes a column for one of our weekly papers on the Peninsula. Anyway, prayers that they can manage the pain and that it can be quickly treated with a minimum of discomfort.

  8. Chickadee did not come over. 😦

It could be because the McKs couldn’t/wouldn’t pick her up tonight and she didn’t want to spend the night. But Nightingale and I suspect that also, or maybe rather, she didn’t want to come over knowing Stephanie would be here. Not that she has anything against Stephanie, but being with people she doesn’t already know fairly well makes her anxious.

I had even told her that Nightingale and her guests would be spending most of their time outside, and she and I could hang out together inside. Now I don’t know when we’ll be able to get together this week.

  9. Surgery went well, but he’ll have to stay off that leg for 6 weeks and likely will be going to a rehab facility. Continued prayer for recovery, pain management, spirits (the first broken hip, if I recall, put him in something of a funk) and for his wife and family. He’s probably feeling pretty rough today.

  10. I’m feeling much better today — have had none of the symptoms I mentioned above. I suspect that ingesting small amounts of MSG over several consecutive days brought this on. Will have to read labels better than I have been lately.

Thank you for your prayers. They, of course, help, too. 🙂

    Praying for everyone above.
