I’ve never had this before. But I’m now having trouble getting to sleep. I go to bed sleepy, but sleep doesn’t come.
I resort to melatonin. But I don’t want it to become habitual.
What I need is my bedmate back.
We sleep tangled up together and I need someone to hold.
Yuck, Michelle. My sympathy. I hope you find a good solution.
Chas, you may want to buy a body pillow for the short term. I know someone whose husband has to leave for weeks or months at a time. She says this helps her sleep better.
We have Spring…we sort of like having ours iced with snow and stuff 😊 a very short Spring into Summer is what we are conditioned to around here…. 🌺 ❄️
Praying for Chas to bring his sweetie home soon!! 💗
It’s spring here, too. But sometimes our spring can suddenly ‘spring’ into summer with a nasty heatwave. No signs of one yet, but it’s bound to come, often in May.
It was a year ago around this time that my 180-foot-long driveway was all torn up and the clay sewer line was discovered to be broken in 3 places, all the way down to the sidewalk. I think this was after the bedroom ceiling was replaced, causing much havoc inside the house and breaking my bed, and just before the backyard fence was replaced, causing much havoc again on the outside of the house. Then the 30+ year old washing machine finally broke and flooded the kitchen, just as the repair guy brought the fixed bed frame back. He had to carefully slosh through the kitchen to get it to the bedroom … And on it went.
🙂 So the rave is that I’m finally heading into the home stretch, only painting ahead.
Me too. Real Estate Guy, the engineer, says I’m more the artistic type (he literally told me to just go to Home Depot and buy the cheapest toilet, tile and sink I could find, just get ‘something’ that was in stock, when I was redoing the bathroom — gasp!) but …. I really do need to put the tree root first, I know. Hoping if the painting does have to wait it will only be put off for a few months and I can still wrap all this up by fall or the holidays, at least.
So Alberto the gardener is coming Monday (I’m trying to meet him) to talk about tree root and tree trimming which also, now I realize, will have to be done to paint the outside of the house. Dog park worker said $300 to $400 to cut off the root — he also wanted to trim the trees but said I’d have to rent a dumpster for limbs, I figure the gardner knows how to do all that more efficiently and they’ll have a truck they can haul that stuff away in. Back to getting bids.
Has anyone seen Spring? If so, please return it to its rightful owner.

It’s out here. Birds are hysterically singing and the sun isn’t even up yet.

We have it here, just as Michelle reported.

My azaleas and dogwoods think it’s spring.
And I’ve cut grass twice already.

I was mowing the rose garden yesterday. The rest of the grounds a couple days before. I did it about three weeks ago as well.

I have an aversion to ants–I didn’t like them before I moved to Hawai’i but having to deal with magically appearing overnight ant nests did me in.
All morning, they’ve been turning up–marching across the newspaper, hovering in the dishwasher, showing up on my bathrobe. Driving me crazy!
I took another look at my bathrobe–they were coming from the bathrobe!
It’s now in the washer . . . sigh.

Or not.
There is a root from the big tree that I’m reminded needs to be dealt with … Sigh. Painting may have to wait a while, not sure.

He’s like, ‘just paint it gray and white again and be done with it.’ I’ve spent MONTHS deciding on just the right color scheme!
