Prayer Requests 4-14-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 65

Praise awaits you, our God, in Zion;
    to you our vows will be fulfilled.
You who answer prayer,
    to you all people will come.
When we were overwhelmed by sins,
    you forgave our transgressions.
Blessed are those you choose
    and bring near to live in your courts!
   We are filled with the good things of your house,
    of your holy temple.

You answer us with awesome and righteous deeds,
    God our Savior,
   the hope of all the ends of the earth
    and of the farthest seas,
who formed the mountains by your power,
    having armed yourself with strength,
who stilled the roaring of the seas,
    the roaring of their waves,
    and the turmoil of the nations.
The whole earth is filled with awe at your wonders;
    where morning dawns, where evening fades,
    you call forth songs of joy.

You care for the land and water it;
    you enrich it abundantly.
   The streams of God are filled with water
    to provide the people with grain,
    for so you have ordained it.
10 You drench its furrows and level its ridges;
    you soften it with showers and bless its crops.
11 You crown the year with your bounty,
    and your carts overflow with abundance.
12 The grasslands of the wilderness overflow;
    the hills are clothed with gladness.
13 The meadows are covered with flocks
    and the valleys are mantled with grain;
    they shout for joy and sing.

  1. Hubby is having more trouble with his hip. He’s off to see a different (third?) practitioner now. Please pray for answers, and relief from his pain and discouragement. Thank you.

  2. Please also pray for safety in travels. We’re a little ways into a 2-day winter weather advisory. Last night was wind, rain, thunder and lightning. Today and tomorrow they’ve predicted ice, sleet and snow, along with more very windy conditions. Some of it has arrived.

    Hubby is on his way to his doctor appointment in the poor weather right now. Third Arrow will have to drive in it, as well. She doesn’t normally work on Saturdays, but this weekend is Prom, and nearly all her co-workers are high school kids, so she’s got a long shift today.

    And our family will be traveling to church tomorrow. (Church is never called off, and hubby never stays home from anything because of the weather. Unless it’s a physical impossibility to get up and off our dead-end road due to ice, which has happened before — rarely.)

    Thanks for prayers.

  3. Hubby saw two different practitioners yesterday, and goes in again tomorrow for another visit. Continued prayers appreciated.

    Uneventful travels all around for the weekend, to and from the places I mentioned yesterday. Though it didn’t appear that way at one point, and I was just about to return here with a more urgent, time-sensitive request for further prayer.

    Hubby got back into town (his appointments were in a different city) about the time 3rd Arrow was scheduled to work yesterday morning. He drove past her work place, but didn’t see her car anywhere in the vicinity, nor in the bank parking lot nearby. (She had plans to pick up her paycheck at work, go to the bank, then return to her workplace and punch in for her shift.)

    He called me, asking if I knew where she was, what time she left home, etc. I told him I’d try calling her, and he said he’d drive home and look to see if she was in any ditches along the way. (She’d already left home more than a half hour before, and it’s only an eight-minute drive to her workplace under normal weather conditions, which it certainly wasn’t yesterday.)

    I called her, but got no answer, so left a message to call me when she got my message.

    That’s when I headed to the computer to request more prayer.

    The phone ringing interrupted me after I’d just logged on. It was daughter. She was fine — got to work without a problem, and when she picked up her check, her boss said why don’t you clock in and you can take the business funds to (their) bank, too.

    Which is in a different part of town. So she was likely at that bank when hubby was driving around where he thought she would have been then.

    Maybe we should consider getting that “Find Friends” app Chas has.

    In any case, thank you for your prayers. It’s been a wild weather weekend like one I haven’t seen in mid-April in a long time.
