Prayer Requests 4-5-18

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 56

Be merciful to me, my God,
    for my enemies are in hot pursuit;
    all day long they press their attack.
My adversaries pursue me all day long;
    in their pride many are attacking me.

When I am afraid, I put my trust in you.
 In God, whose word I praise—
   in God I trust and am not afraid.
    What can mere mortals do to me?

All day long they twist my words;
    all their schemes are for my ruin.
They conspire, they lurk,
    they watch my steps,
    hoping to take my life.
Because of their wickedness do not let them escape;
    in your anger, God, bring the nations down.

Record my misery;
    list my tears on your scroll—
    are they not in your record?
Then my enemies will turn back
    when I call for help.
    By this I will know that God is for me.

10 In God, whose word I praise,
    in the Lord, whose word I praise—
11 in God I trust and am not afraid.
    What can man do to me?

12 I am under vows to you, my God;
    I will present my thank offerings to you.
13 For you have delivered me from death
    and my feet from stumbling,
   that I may walk before God
    in the light of life.

  1. Voice mail message left on my cell phone this morning reports that my lab results (from last Friday’s clinic visit) “look great,” and a paper copy of the results will be mailed to me.

    Thank you for praying me through this.

    The only thing pending now is an ENT visit to check on the polyp in my nose. I’m hoping that turns out fine, too, and that its removal might be able to restore some or all of my sense of smell. (And diminished sense of taste, too, which is to a lesser degree.)

    God be praised in all things.

  2. I held off earlier because I was afraid I would sound like a whiner when I should be celebrating the good test results above, but I’ve had a full-blown migraine with nausea (and a stiff neck) for six hours now, so will ask you to lift me up, if you will. It hasn’t been the worst one ever, because I managed to get through a 1 1/2 hour piano lesson late this afternoon, but I’m sure hoping it’s gone by tomorrow morning. There are many errands I’ve saved up for then (Bible study day), trying to avoid as much leaving the house and running around during the week as I can.

    Thanks, and good night.
