Prayer Requests 3-28-18

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajisuun and The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 49:1-15

Hear this, all you peoples;
    listen, all who live in this world,
both low and high,
    rich and poor alike:
My mouth will speak words of wisdom;
    the meditation of my heart will give you understanding.
I will turn my ear to a proverb;
    with the harp I will expound my riddle:

Why should I fear when evil days come,
    when wicked deceivers surround me—
those who trust in their wealth
    and boast of their great riches?
No one can redeem the life of another
    or give to God a ransom for them—
the ransom for a life is costly,
    no payment is ever enough—
so that they should live on forever
    and not see decay.
10 For all can see that the wise die,
    that the foolish and the senseless also perish,
    leaving their wealth to others.
11 Their tombs will remain their houses forever,
    their dwellings for endless generations,
    though they had named lands after themselves.

12 People, despite their wealth, do not endure;
    they are like the beasts that perish.

13 This is the fate of those who trust in themselves,
    and of their followers, who approve their sayings.
14 They are like sheep and are destined to die;
    death will be their shepherd
    (but the upright will prevail over them in the morning).
   Their forms will decay in the grave,
    far from their princely mansions.
15 But God will redeem me from the realm of the dead;
    he will surely take me to himself.

  1. No C-section tonight. No hole in the heart, no chromosomal abnormalities. It’s a bad placenta with compromised blood flow and the baby, possibly as a result, is small. Other than Stanford, they’re in the safest hospital tonight and we hope to know more in the morning.

    Thank you for prayers.

  2. God is doing His work and will continue to care for this little one. I am praying that as I got to see my little granddaughter today, that He would also care for yours.

  3. Eldest son injured his neck while wrestling with his roomies in college. Twenty years later, he has gone to the doctor. I don’t know it the two are related but he has two herniated discs and some other stuff. Wisdom on medical procedures but more importantly, that this would drive him to God.

  4. Update on Lee from Nan: Lee Burt Benbow UPDATE:

    Dr. Prague has just left us. He was able to open Lee up just a bit more to get a better, not great, look at the GI track to see if he could find where the leakage might becoming from. With what he could see he found no leakage BUT he was not able to pick up and move the small nor large intestines around due to the fact they are so so very brittle and with just a small amount of touching starts to bleed. He feels that the major infection from the Sepsis is gone BUT again she still is Septic just NOT in Septic Shock.
    His goal is to TRY to have the breathing tube removed and to wake her up today but that decision is left up to the Chief of Intensive Care. So that will not be decided for a while.

    Dr. Prague is a gracious and hopeful person. He is also a realist. He has made sure to tell us over and over that Lee is a miracle. That we are now living hour to hour, moment to moment but never leaves us without hope. He makes us feel that there is always hope in our wonderful God.

    Lee Burt Benbow, Tomi Ferguson Burt and James, and Jimmy Burt and Jodi and their girls needs prayers and they need a lot of prayers. Please know that they are staying strong and hopeful and still give so much Glory to Him and the works that He has done to and through Lee.

    God Bless you all for the love and support that each and everyone of you for all the love, prayers, and support that you have and are giving to my sweet sweet family.

  5. More ultrasounds, more monitoring and talk, now, of A staying for the duration for the pregnancy. This has thrown us as we try to sort out what that means vis a vis kids, our travel schedule, our son’s job, etc.

    I’m a fine candidate to be auxiliary caregiver and stand in, but I’m slated to travel far away 4.5 of the next 8 weeks. Feeling tremendous Grandma guilt.

    Other grandmother would be willing, I’m sure, a lovely devout woman, but she doesn’t drive and has only left her husband’s side a handful of times in nearly 40 years of marriage. She lives 100 miles away.

    The major problem is the Europe trip in three weeks. The rest can be managed.

    Still not googling and our EMT commented that having now reached the cusp of the third trimester, as long as the baby’s lungs are functioning, it’s all feed and grow anyway.

    But she’s so little.

    We’ll see what we learn later today. I’m trying NOT to think ahead to worst case scenarios, which is how I usually operate, and focus on God is in control and, like Biddy, I’m going to expect Him to do something good.

    He healed that baby’s heart and gave them good news about the chromosone issue yesterday. He can get that placenta working if that’s part of His plan.
