  1. oh, what a week it has been. Many absent at school, even four one day, nd one boy was out all week. My neighbor medevaced after a bad fall. Then my friend across the street also medevaced to Australia, with an unknown illness. Still no word on how he is doing.
Staff meeting at school where we discussed options on how to meet the needs for next year, including me perhaps teaching part of another grade in the afternoon.
    I feel like Donna……

  2. 🙂 I keep getting e-mails from an astrological soothsayer who thinks I’m Brian and that I was born in 1972.
If she thinks that, she can’t do anything for me.

  3. Chas, probably better than her thinking you are Brianna. 🙂

    🙂 We sold our house!

🙂 We had five showings in three days, two more scheduled for tomorrow so far; someone made an offer the second day, and those on the third day moved up their own showings since they wanted to see it too. (We had it listed for a while last fall, but it was too late in the season, and we took it off the market for winter; we didn’t want to be showing it, or moving, in winter.)

😦 Now the really hard work starts. (We did have hard work last summer–stripping wallpaper, painting, cleaning a deck we had never cleaned, power-scrubbing a shower used by unnamed people that had likewise never been cleaned, cleaning the side of the house, cleaning and repainting white picket fence, packing up some things and putting them in closets and under beds . . . ) We now have to pack (among other things we have thousands of books, and maybe only 10% of them have been packed), and we have to find housing in a market where houses are moving even faster than here. If you don’t see me a lot over the next few weeks, you will know why.

  4. 😦 It so saddens me to see Christians using terms that are so unchristian. I am thinking of the post by a 16 yr. old who uses the word karma in a program at school. The intention is good–to present ways for peers to do good in the community. However, using the word karma and saying that doing these things will lead to good karma is problematic for Christians. I understand a 16 yr. old not having the understanding of that, but what of the adults around her?
I would like to say that Jesus should have had the best karma ever, but was hung on a cross. This is just one example.

🙂 My brother has been doing very well during his cancer treatments. How he needs the Lord, however.

🙂 Signs of spring even here in the north.

  5. congratulations Cheryl! Ugh, moving. And I’ve had to just dispense with a lot of books (though surely not as many as you and your husband have) in my overhaul of this house, how did I accumulate so many books??

I’ve found that the older I get, it does get easier to pitch and give things away. But even with the books I’ve gotten out of here (bags and boxes full of them over the past 1+ years), a good number remain that I’d like to somehow keep. I’ll be doing another assessment of those, though.

  6. 🙂 My husband was finally referred to a pain specialist for his knee. He went on Thursday and they gave him a shot and two prescriptions, and there is a plan for a course of treatment ending in a nerve block. Yesterday he was in less pain than he had been in a while.
😦 Upon arriving home after going to see Black Panther yesterday evening, he twisted his knee somewhat as he stepped in the door, and was in severe pain. It hasn’t improved much today.

  7. 🙂 Four of the things that had been hanging over my head were accomplished early this week. Getting the taxes done was the biggie. Now there are only three things left on my list of stressful things to take care of, but the most stressful ones are behind me, and these are only somewhat stressful. (Although one could turn out to be more stressful once we get into it. Hoping that is not the case.)

As I mentioned sometime earlier this week (or maybe it was last week – I’m having trouble keeping track of days and such), those things I referred to don’t include going through Hubby’s things. That will be a biggie, but I am letting that wait until these other matters are over and done with. When I do get into that, I will take it little by little so as not to overwhelm myself.
