Prayer Requests 3-6-18

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 26

Vindicate me, Lord,
    for I have led a blameless life;
   I have trusted in the Lord
    and have not faltered.
Test me, Lord, and try me,
    examine my heart and my mind;
for I have always been mindful of your unfailing love
    and have lived in reliance on your faithfulness.

I do not sit with the deceitful,
    nor do I associate with hypocrites.
I abhor the assembly of evildoers
    and refuse to sit with the wicked.
I wash my hands in innocence,
    and go about your altar, Lord,
proclaiming aloud your praise
    and telling of all your wonderful deeds.

Lord, I love the house where you live,
    the place where your glory dwells.
Do not take away my soul along with sinners,
    my life with those who are bloodthirsty,
10 in whose hands are wicked schemes,
    whose right hands are full of bribes.
11 I lead a blameless life;
    deliver me and be merciful to me.

12 My feet stand on level ground;
    in the great congregation I will praise the Lord.

  1. Please pray for my neighbor, we have the same outside door and share a wall. She has been medevaced to Australia. A fall while out in the village resulted in a serious injury. This is the second medevac in a week from Ukarumpa.

  2. Michelle, I saw your prayer request yesterday and wanted to share this story. Mama Ruth’s youngest daughter was pregnant for a third time. The doctors told her the baby would be born severely deformed and would only live a few hours. Something to do with measurements and the size of her brain.They strongly encouraged termination. She decided to have an amnio, but had already made up her mind that she would carry the baby to term and let her live as long as she could whether that be hours or days. She would donate the baby’s organs to other babies born with defects.
    Turned out the baby was fine. She is the one that I tell the story of her being born on December 18, the same day that BG was conceived. She is currently 21 years old studying Mathematics and Computer Science.
    May your prayer request turn out just as well.

  3. Please pray for my friend & neighbor from down the street E, she’s an RN but has been off for several weeks now with painful back spasms that doctors can only say are ‘skeletal-muscular” in origin (she’d originally thought she might have a kidney stone the pain was so severe, but an MRI has ruled anything like that out).

    She had a very slight case of polio as a child after she was given he polio vaccine (a rare occurrence, but it happened — and it’s made her understandably wary of vaccines ever since). One of her ankles is ‘frozen’ so she walks with a limp and it’s thrown the rest of her body off kilter, presumably the underlying cause of what’s going on now with the lower back. She’s also not able to swim which is her preferred and frequent form of exercise.

    She’s been trying acupuncture but after 2 weeks the acupuncturist apparently is expressing disappointment in her level of improvement. She’s 59 or 60, I believe, single (a believer) so this is causing her concern about her ability to earn a livelihood of course. Her job at the hospital requires her to be on her feet for most of her 12-hour shifts. She also needs to be able to physically assist patients (and she’s of a slight build).

    She’s praying fervently for healing and I think feels discouraged at this point that healing hasn’t come. She’s not Pentecostal but has something of that tendency & expectation when it comes to prayer. She told me a couple weeks ago it’s as if God has just folded his arms in response to her pleas.

    Pray that this pain would somehow resolve itself with time and rest and/or that the acupuncture or some other treatment (though none has really been offered by the other doctors) will remove the chronic pain so she can continue to work.

  4. Thank you, Kim. Every bit of encouragement helps.

    Little girls this morning: “Want to see a picture of our baby?” Shows me the ultrasound. “You can almost see her nose!”

    Kisses her mom’s tummy, “Bye, baby.” Looks at me. “The baby in mommy’s tummy is sick.”

    I nod.

    She puts on her backpack and off we go to school. That’s it.

  5. The Boy has been diagnosed with strep throat. Please pray for a quick recovery, and also please pray that no one else gets it. (I usually get whatever he gets. 😦 )
