It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Psalm 23
1 The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing.
2 He makes me lie down in green pastures,
he leads me beside quiet waters,
3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths
for his name’s sake.
4 Even though I walk
through the darkest valley,
I will fear no evil,
for you are with me;
your rod and your staff,
they comfort me.
5 You prepare a table before me
in the presence of my enemies.
You anoint my head with oil;
my cup overflows.
6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me
all the days of my life,
and I will dwell in the house of the Lord
forever.

Indeed….KJV is how I read the above scripture…the poetical flow of the translation will forever be imprinted upon my heart….here you go
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
2 He maketh me to lie down in green pastures: he leadeth me beside the still waters.
3 He restoreth my soul: he leadeth me in the paths of righteousness for his name’s sake.
4 Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me.
5 Thou preparest a table before me in the presence of mine enemies: thou anointest my head with oil; my cup runneth over.
6 Surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life: and I will dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.

I have it memorized in the NIV, so find that most comfortable. Whatever translation, what a beautiful picture and promise.

Brown’s is a wonderful local orchard/farm market that sells all kinds of produce, baked goods, gifts, and cider; also has a nice little restaurant. Kim ordered a gift basket from them, to be delivered locally here, a while back. The “patron” Brown passed away last year. The son, Dave, moved back to the area a few years ago to become the third-generation owner. His wife does “Story Time” for the kiddos every Thursday (DIL, Sarah and GD, Samantha went yesterday). They have two sons. Last night Dave suffered a massive heart attack and died. He was 53. The whole community is mourning this loss.

Prayers for Dave’s family, and all who know them, Linda. How shocking and sad.
I have updates from recent prayer requests:
1. My mom got a second opinion this week regarding her broken clavicle. My sister who took her to her appointment reported this:
My mom and dad are very grateful for all the prayer support from family and friends and friends of family. Thank you!
2. Thank you for the prayers regarding the stresses and tensions I’ve alluded to recently. Things are falling back into place, and with the church/school volunteer run-around I mentioned, I’ve got my rehearsals set up with the three students. Their parents are bringing them directly to my house to practice with me some evenings this week and next, so I don’t have to deal with the school anymore and all the mis- and non-communication that stood in the way of simply working with these kids who were assigned to me after I volunteered to accompany them.
Their music event is a week from tomorrow, and after that, I plan to write to the school principal and perhaps others to suggest some changes to get everyone on the same page in the future so it is clear what our job duties are and how we are supposed to fulfill them.
