Prayer Requests 2-22-18

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 15

Lord, who may dwell in your sacred tent?
    Who may live on your holy mountain?

The one whose walk is blameless,
    who does what is righteous,
    who speaks the truth from their heart;
whose tongue utters no slander,
    who does no wrong to a neighbor,
    and casts no slur on others;
who despises a vile person
    but honors those who fear the Lord;
   who keeps an oath even when it hurts,
    and does not change their mind;
who lends money to the poor without interest;
    who does not accept a bribe against the innocent.

   Whoever does these things
    will never be shaken.

  1. Please pray for teachers. The current situation for the next school year, beginning in mid July, is that we have three and one half teachers for Preschool through fifth grade. We need preschool, both threes and fours, two separate classes, grade 1, 2, and 4. Impossible, yes, Only possible through prayer. They are devising alternate plans to only teach language arts and reading, not the best. God is good, but we would appreciate prayer.

  2. I’m experiencing an uptick in internal stress again – work is simply beyond depressing, my phone isn’t working half the time now and the dog park guy who’s supposed to show up and finish a couple things he’s already been paid for isn’t showing (he’s also the one who’s supposed to pain my house — “in March” — which makes me think there may be a problem with counting on him for that but I need the low price he’s offering.

  3. She says on Tuesday, she will sneak into my room and steal a knife. And Thursday night, at 9 AM, she is going to kill her little sister and then herself. She so wants to go back to the mental hospital. But they won’t take her. She had so much fun there, learning all sorts of neat things.

  4. If a person is threatening harm, I thought the hospitals had to take them—or does it require a commitment hearing, I had to do that once for a family member, but it has been so many years ago, I don’t know what the laws are now. Or what resources are available. I’m so sorry you are all going through this Mumsee. You’re in my prayers.

  5. She says it almost every day. But none of us believe she actually knows how, though the er nurse gave her a hint and I had to ask the nurse to be more careful.

  6. A dear friend, former co-worker, editor of my first book died this morning. She was in her 90s and it was not unexpected. But still a great loss for her husband of many decades, daughter, and grandson. I am happy that I sent her a Valentine card ten or twelve days ago, whether or not she was able to open it or read it. (I don’t know the details of her recent condition.) I found out about her death a couple of hours after finding out about a cancer diagnosis for someone else close to me (not in my household).
