Prayer Requests 1-31-18

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajisuun and The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 146

Praise the Lord.

  Praise the Lord, my soul.

I will praise the Lord all my life;
    I will sing praise to my God as long as I live.
Do not put your trust in princes,
    in human beings, who cannot save.
When their spirit departs, they return to the ground;
    on that very day their plans come to nothing.
Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob,
    whose hope is in the Lord their God.

He is the Maker of heaven and earth,
    the sea, and everything in them—
    he remains faithful forever.
He upholds the cause of the oppressed
    and gives food to the hungry.
   The Lord sets prisoners free,
    the Lord gives sight to the blind,
   the Lord lifts up those who are bowed down,
    the Lord loves the righteous.
The Lord watches over the foreigner
    and sustains the fatherless and the widow,
    but he frustrates the ways of the wicked.

10 The Lord reigns forever,
    your God, O Zion, for all generations.

   Praise the Lord.

  1. Please pray for Nightingale to be able to pick up more shifts. And/or pray that the Lord will provide for us in a surprising way, that His provision, along with His love, mercy, and grace, will be manifested to my daughter(s).

    Not only does she not have enough shifts in February, but she also has only been scheduled for half the shifts she signed up for coming up in March. She is getting very anxious about it.

  2. I will have my tooth extracted tomorrow afternoon. (It is the wisdom tooth way in the back on the upper right.) It is still achy, but not as painful as it had gotten the last couple days, and I have to eat soft foods to avoid aggravating it, even while trying to only chew on the other side.

    The dentist complimented my teeth, saying I keep them very clean, in good condition. 🙂 (Flossing helps, at least for me.)

  3. Well, Nightingale just picked up first shift for tomorrow (thanks for any prayers), so we will have to reschedule our dentist appointments for another day (she was having something done, too). Please pray there will be openings for us on Friday. Thanks.

  4. Kizzie, considering you are going because of pain issues, is there someone else who can take you and let you keep that appointment (and, I suppose, someone else to watch the Boy)? Please don’t put it off over the weekend if you can possibly avoid it!

  5. Cheryl – Fortunately, the pain has been decreasing, and is much more manageable now. At this moment, I’m not feeling anything, but a general awareness of tenderness in that area. (So grateful about that!) I’m pretty sure they can get us, or at least me, in on Friday. (It’s one of those chains of dentist offices, with more hours available than a usual dentist office.)

  6. Kizzie, I am the sole breadwinner for our family, now. I only have a prn position. Normally, I work every Wednesday night, and then pick up if someone is sick or on vacation. I was able to pick up quite a few extra shifts in December, and this month, I have worked full time for the last 3 weeks. When signing up for shifts next schedule, I only had Wednesday nights. Miguel and I talked about it, and both knew that God always provides. The next day I came in to work, the scheduler asked me to pick up some fast track shifts, so, we are good through March. I trust that He will provide, even when, in my eyes, I don’t see how. I will testify that God is good all the time!
