49 Remember your word to your servant, for you have given me hope. 50 My comfort in my suffering is this: Your promise preserves my life. 51 The arrogant mock me unmercifully, but I do not turn from your law. 52 I remember, Lord, your ancient laws, and I find comfort in them. 53 Indignation grips me because of the wicked, who have forsaken your law. 54 Your decrees are the theme of my song wherever I lodge. 55 In the night, Lord, I remember your name, that I may keep your law. 56 This has been my practice: I obey your precepts.
I may have told this before, but Psalm 119:49-56 is (for instance) zain.
That means that every verse starts with “zain”, the Hebrew equivalent of Z.
Fascinating, though Ps. 119 can get tedious when you try to read it through.
The entire Psalm has to do with “The Word”. .
Our furnace motor quit today. Husband managed to get to town before closing to get another one. He is still struggling to take off the old one and put in the new one. Thankful it’s not minus 40!
Thanks, DJ. New motor is in but it’s not injecting the oil – grrr. We will use the wood burning side, but we need to get it fixed so that when it’s freezing and we’re not here to feed the fire the house won’t freeze.
