Chas, so if it is not murder or involuntary manslaughter, what is it? (I haven’t followed the case and had to google it to see what you were even talking about yesterday.) And does our Constitution even allow cities to outlaw guns? Maybe a case can be made that the Constitution only prohibits the federal government from gun control, but that local governments have more freedom, I don’t know. But the “right” to bear arms is clearly in the Constitution, and it seems a hard one to get around, legally.
This is the article from Thomas Wright cited in the Goldberg article. It raises an issue that I have thought about. What happens when “the adults in the room” get tired of being adult day care workers and retire to their ranches? Or what if Trump decides to fire the adults and replace them with sycophants?
The guy was likely guilty of involuntary manslaughter.
The fact that “he never should have been here” is not relevant to the issue.
There was no malevolence, so it was not murder.
But he killed the girl by his actions. Being stupid is not an excuse.
However, I have felt sorry for Tillerson for some time. After he first met Trump, he didn’t want to take the job. But his wife and others convinced him he should serve as part of “his patriotic duty”. I will be happy for him when he leaves the circus and returns to Texas.
Ricky @8:23 The article says Tom Cotton is being considered to replace Pompeo as CIA director. I think he should be careful about accepting that position, as it’s liable to be short-lived. And I would not be inclined to ever vote for an ex-CIA director for president; the one we had was an unmitigated disaster, and I don’t think it adds anything positive to their qualifications. In my opinion, being ex-director of the CIA primarily qualifies one to retire to the countryside to contemplate the sins of this world and their possible consequences in the next.
I just read part of a piece about Kamala Harris. It was long on her choosing to support Obama but not much about her. She is for helping young first time offenders. She was an early supporter of Obama. She is against the death penalty.Like Obama, she is of mixed race. She is a Democrat. Obama was a supporter of Kamala.
She will be running for President in 2020. She will be looking to get the support of those who supported Obama.
Papadopolous- Coffee boy Manafort- Brief campaign worker Flynn- Former Obama official Coming soon: Kushner- Acquaintance of Ivanka Pence- Picked by Manafort, barely know him Don Jr- Never saw his birth certificate, planted by deep state#MuellerIsComing
One thing is certain.

Trump almost certainly made this worse by firing Comey, but I think we are beginning to understand why he was acting so guilty in the spring.

Debra, I agree. I think Sessions is living proof that no Senator should join the Trump Administration.
