  1. This article by Brooks was good. I like his perception that the young people understand what is missing. However, his conclusion is wrong. The needed revival will not come from changes in the government.

  2. The dumb old pot just couldn’t keep from calling the kettle black.

Ben Shapiro thinks this has opened the door to a week’s worth of reporting about Trump’s sexual assault victims. We shall see.

  3. Interesting commentary by Brooks with good observations. The comments that follow are totally off the point and frustrating to read (so I stopped).

When you destroy the family and blast the institutions that give children a stable childhood, what else do you expect to happen?

Unlike most of the commenters, I believe establishing a strong family and faith can go a long way towards restoring our nation–that would be revival . . .

    Thanks, Ricky.

  4. So which is immoral here?

Is it immoral to abort a baby just because it has Downs Syndrome?

Or is it immoral to tell a woman she can’t abort her baby just because it has Downs Syndrome?

Depends who you ask, and whether or not they profit from it.

“The Ohio Senate passed the Down Syndrome Non-Discrimination Act Wednesday which prohibits abortion based solely on a diagnosis of Down syndrome. The Ohio House passed identical legislation two weeks ago and either the House or Senate must now pass the other chamber’s bill to advance it to Gov. Kasich’s desk.”

“Ohio Right to Life thanks our pro-life senators for taking a stand against the modern-day eugenic practice of aborting babies with Down syndrome,” Mike Gonidakis, president of Ohio Right to Life, said. “We are continuously encouraged by how Ohio is on the forefront of protecting the unborn. All Ohioans regardless of the gender, skin color or disability deserve the right to live out their God-given potential and purpose.”

“There is a reason that 99% of people with Down syndrome are happy with their lives,” Gonidakis added. “They live joyfully, in a way that is contagious to others. We are happy that the Ohio Senate recognizes their lives as worth living.”

NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio called the measure “immoral” arguing that it’s the woman’s decision, even if it’s based on a Down syndrome diagnosis.

“It is not our place to judge or decide for any woman what she should do, or prevent her from having honest conversations about her options with her physician—especially following a complicated medical diagnosis,” NARAL Pro-Choice Ohio Executive Director Kellie Copeland said. “This legislation criminalizes those important conversations and callously disregards the unique circumstances that surround each woman’s pregnancy. This abortion ban is both immoral and unconstitutional.”

  5. There is a fitting bible quote for calling good evil and evil good, but I am sure everyone here knows it already. The ones who support killing Downs Syndrome human beings don’t care. Oh, for a proper fear of God again for most of our nation!

  6. Chas, she has an actual nail stuck in the middle of her forehead and when the guy tries to point it out, she claims he’s just trying to solve her problem and not listen to her.

    Sigh.

  7. I’ve seen the “not about the nail” several times, and I think it’s hilarious.

I think, though, that having grown up in a testosterone-dominant home (mostly brothers and lots of nephews), I think more like a guy in some ways. Of course you offer a way to fix something if there is a problem that needs fixing and you can see a solution. Of course if I ask “Does this dress make me look fat?” I want an honest answer.
