Prayer Requests 11-6-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 90

Lord, you have been our dwelling place
    throughout all generations.
Before the mountains were born
    or you brought forth the whole world,
    from everlasting to everlasting you are God.

You turn people back to dust,
    saying, “Return to dust, you mortals.”
A thousand years in your sight
    are like a day that has just gone by,
    or like a watch in the night.
Yet you sweep people away in the sleep of death—
    they are like the new grass of the morning:
In the morning it springs up new,
    but by evening it is dry and withered.

We are consumed by your anger
    and terrified by your indignation.
You have set our iniquities before you,
    our secret sins in the light of your presence.
All our days pass away under your wrath;
    we finish our years with a moan.
10 Our days may come to seventy years,
    or eighty, if our strength endures;
yet the best of them are but trouble and sorrow,
    for they quickly pass, and we fly away.
11 If only we knew the power of your anger!
    Your wrath is as great as the fear that is your due.
12 Teach us to number our days,
    that we may gain a heart of wisdom.

13 Relent, Lord! How long will it be?
    Have compassion on your servants.
14 Satisfy us in the morning with your unfailing love,
    that we may sing for joy and be glad all our days.
15 Make us glad for as many days as you have afflicted us,
    for as many years as we have seen trouble.
16 May your deeds be shown to your servants,
    your splendor to their children.

17 May the favor of the Lord our God rest on us;
    establish the work of our hands for us—
    yes, establish the work of our hands.

  1. Husband is in Boise for the second infusion of the fall. Last I heard, twenty year old was stuck on Snoqualmie Pass after visiting her brother in prison. Nineteen and twenty year old have broken their engagement. Twenty year old is visiting his bio grandmother. Eighteen year old is overdrawn on the account he shares with husband. And so it goes, watching them spread their wings. Meanwhile, he at the farmlette, sixteen year old boy seems to be getting glimpses of reality. Sixteen year old daughter seems stable but maybe getting a bit much of the sleep meds as she is now taking naps in the day time. Eleven year old says his favorite part of church is listening to the pastor tell stories. Ten year old is at my door, ready to do chores.

  2. Nightingale & The Boy have been sick, as I mentioned the other day. With The Boy having a fever almost every evening, & sleeping much more than usual, as well as seeming to not have recovered from an ear infection, Nightingale called to make an appointment for him at the pediatrician, but no one is in the office today, so the appointment is for tomorrow.

    I’m concerned about The Boy’s ears. He is prone to ear infections when he gets sick, no matter how well Nightingale treats his symptoms & tries preventative measures. The pediatrician recommends treating them with ibuprofen, & coming in for treatment if they continue past two or three days (which is what usually happens). He had one last week that seemed to have gone away, but seems to be bothering him again. Please pray it will not be too severe, & that he will recover soon. Nightingale is feeling somewhat better today, & will be working tonight.

  3. Ears are a concern. We have found success with a bit of oil of oregano added to olive oil and dripped in. It kills the germs that are growing in there. Though in daughter, who is sensitive to all sorts of things, it makes her sneeze.

  4. Praying for The Boy, and the needs at The Nest.

    No word yet on when we can get 4th Arrow in to be seen. The clinic we plan to go to wasn’t open yesterday, and I got voicemail when I called this morning (they were already open, but apparently very busy — not surprising after a weekend). No one has returned my call yet.

    Thank you for your prayers for my daughter.

  5. Kizzie I suffered with chronic ear infections as a kid. I still have issues from time but no infections but ruptured ear drum multiple times. And I have genetic hearing loss. My son suffered with infections as a kid until we discovered he had a milk allergy…he had dark circles under his eyes and constant ear infections…did away with the milk…never again did he suffer an ear infection…that was when he was in the second grade.

  6. I’d check for allergies, too. Try removing the basic allergens from his diet for a couple weeks at a time and see if it helps–dairy, peanuts, etc.

    My son had bad ear infections until tubes were places and his adenoids were removed at 4. But he had bad allergies to dust mites, peanuts and dogs–all of which he seems to have outgrown 20 years later.

  7. We’re all okay. It was the septic alarm, not the carbon monoxide detector as I’d thought. Hubby shut off the breaker to the septic pump this morning and forgot to turn it back on when he left for work. No harm done. Thank you much for your prayers.
