Prayer Requests 10-4-17

It’s Wednesday, so don’t forget Ajisuun and The Gambia.

Anyone else?

Psalm 53

The fool says in his heart,
    “There is no God.”
    They are corrupt, and their ways are vile;
    there is no one who does good.

God looks down from heaven
    on all mankind
    to see if there are any who understand,
    any who seek God.
Everyone has turned away, all have become corrupt;
    there is no one who does good,
    not even one.

Do all these evildoers know nothing?

   They devour my people as though eating bread;
    they never call on God.
But there they are, overwhelmed with dread,
    where there was nothing to dread.
    God scattered the bones of those who attacked you;
    you put them to shame, for God despised them.

Oh, that salvation for Israel would come out of Zion!
    When God restores his people,
    let Jacob rejoice and Israel be glad!

  1. Well, son now has two F’s and a D-. Time to consider the fact that he does not value education. May be time for him to quit school and go get a job. This is not the way to attain his dream of being a General in the Army and in the Marines. Wisdom as to how much pressure to put on the boy. Just let him continue to play or make a change.

  2. Mumsee?
    How old is he?
    Going into the service, regardless of the service, can be a good thing for a young man.
    Some people need to learn discipline, that’s the main thing.

    I know two people who profited greatly by going into the service.
    One of them was me.

  3. They no longer accept folk in the military without a diploma. GED is still quite iffy. But that would be our first choice. Give him a wake up call. No, playing is not a good thing for him. He is sixteen.

  4. The other guy I know went in on a GED.
    He served 12 years as a Marine and got out and went to college.
    He now has a master’s and is doing well.
    My nephew.
    He was two weeks old when he attended out wedding.

  5. The military has been very good for three of our sons and I expect it will be good for daughter when she goes in and finds out she is not actually in charge. But it is wide open to improve yourself. We had hoped sixteen would do enough to at least get a foot in the door.

  6. Still dealing with the suicide fallout. The grandma was not allowed to tell the brother about his brorther’s death in person. I don’t know the current plan but the longer they wait, the harder it will be on the guy. Meantime, they can’t seem to be able to settle on a memorial plan. They were going to have a party this coming weekend, which my three could make it to but it sounds like it has been changed. The youngsters cannot keep asking for more and more time off. I remind them that they loved their brother when he was alive and had time for him, if this does not work out, it is okay.

  7. Nightingale & I wrote that together. She kiddingly suggested putting in that part about the hats, jackets, & pens, & I went ahead & put it in. Hubby almost hoarded those things, & we lovingly teased him about it. He would have laughed at that.

    Thank you so much for the prayers & love. I have had so many emails & Facebook messages that I have not been able to read the blog for a few days. I will eventually catch up on it, but sometime in the next couple days I hope to take time to jump in & share some things with you all.

    This is the worst thing that has ever happened to me, & my heart is broken. Knowing you all are praying for me & love me is a comfort. God bless you all. (My church family has been wonderful, too.)

    Nightingale has been a gem. She told me that she considers me a good friend as well as her mother. I feel that way, too. This has drawn us even closer. She seems to be hurting almost as bad as I am. We have been spending most of our time together.

    Chickadee is in pain, too, of course. She will be here tomorrow.

    Please pray that this will draw Nightingale, Chickadee, & The Boy to Jesus. I know Pastor Billy will share some gospel, so please pray their hearts will be prepared to receive it (or however you’d like to word it), as well as the hearts of the other unbelievers that may be there, such as my brother & his family.

  8. Kizzie, has this drawn your brother back to you? I pray you are able to reconcile. As I said earlier today…you have not been far from my thoughts. I breathe prayer for you.

  9. Yes, Kim, he & my SIL, & even my niece, have reached out to me, offering their help. It was a big surprise, not so much from my SIL, who has occasionally been in touch, but to hear directly from Brother.

    Please pray for him, too. He is having the blood & clots in the urine like Hubby did, which the doctors think may be from kidney, bladder, or prostate cancer. (He has an appointment tomorrow for more tests or something.)

    His name is Chuck, btw.
