Prayer Requests 9-22-17

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 42

As the deer pants for streams of water,
so my soul pants for you, my God.
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God.
When can I go and meet with God?
My tears have been my food
    day and night,
while people say to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”
These things I remember
as I pour out my soul:
how I used to go to the house of God
under the protection of the Mighty One
with shouts of joy and praise
    among the festive throng.

Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.

My soul is downcast within me;
    therefore I will remember you
from the land of the Jordan,
the heights of Hermon—from Mount Mizar.
Deep calls to deep
    in the roar of your waterfalls;
all your waves and breakers
    have swept over me.

By day the Lord directs his love,
at night his song is with me—
a prayer to the God of my life.

I say to God my Rock,
    “Why have you forgotten me?
Why must I go about mourning,
    oppressed by the enemy?”
10 My bones suffer mortal agony
    as my foes taunt me,
saying to me all day long,
    “Where is your God?”

11 Why, my soul, are you downcast?
    Why so disturbed within me?
Put your hope in God,
for I will yet praise him,
    my Savior and my God.

  1. Good morning. It’s Ann–I’m on my cell.
My MIL has been in hospital since Monday, when she fell and badly broke her wrist. She’s being d/c this afternoon. I’m driving her home and staying with her until Scott can get there after work around seven. We are trying to hire a caregiver for her beginning Monday. Please pray for patience and Christ-like love for me–and that she would recognize she can no longer safely live alone.

  2. I have been thinking about you and praying for you, Ann. Will continue, for sure.

I will be with the grands for the weekend. Designer Girl may be induced on Monday, unless there is no room for her to do so. We will plan on being there that day. That evening I have to call about jury duty again. Pray I don’t get it and have to cut my time to help out short.

  3. Hubby is having that surgery today to insert the filter in the vein in his leg. We had a nice visit beforehand, expressing our love for each other, & our faith in our God. Pastor Billy called to pray with us over the phone. We both have peace about this surgery & what may come after.

Please pray that taking him off the Coumadin will “do the trick” in bringing the bleeding from his bladder to an end. I don’t know how long it will take for that to be apparent. (At one time, it seemed like there was no actual active bleeding, but they’ve changed their minds on that.) And also that he will be able to urinate on his own when the catheter is finally removed.

  4. We have finally been able to bring in the new, stronger drug Hubby was prescribed for the prostate cancer over three weeks ago. We’d been told that the hospital could only give him medications he was already taking, & although he had just been prescribed the Zytiga, he hadn’t yet gotten it & started it. With the urologists finally more involved, they decided it was a good idea to get that going.

(It is possible that the bleeding is due to the tumor on the prostate irritating the bladder, & the Zytiga is supposed to shrink that tumor, so it makes sense to have him on it. I wish he’d been able to start it sooner.)

  5. The words “Thank you” are so inadequate right now. You, my dear brothers & sisters in Christ, are absolutely wonderful & amazing. Thank you so very, very much for the incredibly generous gift!

Hubby also sends his great gratitude to you. We are both amazed & deeply grateful.

God bless you all abundantly! I love you!

  6. Oh! Almost forgot to mention that Hubby came through his procedure fine. He wasn’t even put under for it, just sedated a bit, & given a local along with fentanyl.

Now, with the stopping of the Coumadin, we wait to see if his urine clears up.
