It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.
Anyone else?
Psalm 97
1 The Lord reigns, let the earth be glad;
let the distant shores rejoice.
2 Clouds and thick darkness surround him;
righteousness and justice are the foundation of his throne.
3 Fire goes before him
and consumes his foes on every side.
4 His lightning lights up the world;
the earth sees and trembles.
5 The mountains melt like wax before the Lord,
before the Lord of all the earth.
6 The heavens proclaim his righteousness,
and all peoples see his glory.
7 All who worship images are put to shame,
those who boast in idols—
worship him, all you gods!
8 Zion hears and rejoices
and the villages of Judah are glad
because of your judgments, Lord.
9 For you, Lord, are the Most High over all the earth;
you are exalted far above all gods.
10 Let those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 Light shines on the righteous
and joy on the upright in heart.
12 Rejoice in the Lord, you who are righteous,
and praise his holy name.
I am losing the “warm fuzzies” I had over the job opportunity. It continues to drag out with no answers from anyone. The last I heard they had all talked to each other but hadn’t had a chance to talk to me. OK. I am right here.
I think it is time to ask for prayers that another opportunity will be somewhere and that I need to start looking for it.

I would like to ask for prayers for travel mercies today. I am driving 5 hours to pick up a grandson, and then 5 hours back. Will be keeping him for alost 2 weeks.

Then there is this… I have had a discussion all week with Guy about my friend’s memorial service/reception being Saturday afternoon. He just calls to find out which condos are going to be open this weekend and to let me know he is going to be off shore fishing!!!!!!
I told him the memorial and and reception are tomorrow afternoon. I am not going to be available. He told me not to get defensive. Aarrrggghhh.

And then when I am really feeling like “no body likes me… and I am going to go eat worms” I get an email from someone I sold a house to about 7 years ago. She works for an employment company
“Got an opening for a residential closing assistant. Salary is $k to $k and they want 5 years experience.
Are you interested?”
I told her I was willing to interview with anyone. It might not be my dream job but it’s kind of like the story of the man who asked God why he wouldn’t help him and God told him all the times he had tried. Sometimes you just gotta get in the boat, or as I told BG earlier this week, just get on a plane to somewhere and start moving. Eventually you will get close enough to home.

Kim, I think you should call or text him every 5-10 minutes while he is fishing.

I think what I will do is leave a voice mail on my phone that I am attending a family funeral. All calls will be returned after 12 on Sunday or they may try to reach Guy again. (Didn’t tell all of you recently that I excel at passive agressiveness? )
On a more positive note. There is an application on FB where companies can post job offerings. I have applied for about 6 positions today that I may never have known about. One I know the person who currently holds the position and I think she is getting ready to retire. It wouldn’t pay much money but it could be fun.

Kim, that doesn’t seem passive aggressive at all. You set the boundary with Guy, you repeated the boundary to Guy, and you’re setting the boundary on your cell phone. Sounds to me like good boundary setting.

From my friend L’s husband:
L is at the ER. I will provide an update when I know more. Until then, please keep her in your prayers.

You’re welcome. The discussions of boundaries here (such as those about Guy and Carol) have been helpful to me. Thank you all for sharing your experience and insight.

Praying for all above, and the situations and people mentioned on recent prayer threads on which I haven’t commented. The adverse job circumstances several of you are dealing with, regarding bosses and such (Kim, Jo, Kathaleena’s SIL, to name some of the recent ones) have been on my mind frequently, as are health concerns (KBells and others) and various other situations, involving home and family, for example (DJ, Anon, the Nest)
Knowing the general geographic region where most of you live assists me in my prayers, though it’s not necessary information. I sometimes like to just go around the map of the U.S., then branch out to Canada and our missionary locations, praying for you as I “travel” into your territory. Then I add in those whose geographic area I’m not sure of.
That’s the long, rambling way of saying, one way or another, you end up in my prayers. And I thank you very much for your prayers on behalf of my family and me.

The boundaries discussions on the blog have been very helpful to me. I read the book a few months ago, but the conversation here greatly helps in application. I had two situations in which I needed to apply boundaries this week — both involving people outside of family — and it really helped having some tools in my possession to help get me through those. The situations turned out better than I thought. Thanks, guys.

I was really proud of my response to someone pressing me for information about what my friend M is going to do about a certain situation. “I don’t know, she started to tell me and I told her I didn’t need to know. It’s none of my business.”
