Prayer Requests 6-6-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 94:1-14

The Lord is a God who avenges.
    O God who avenges, shine forth.
Rise up, Judge of the earth;
    pay back to the proud what they deserve.
How long, Lord, will the wicked,
    how long will the wicked be jubilant?

They pour out arrogant words;
    all the evildoers are full of boasting.
They crush your people, Lord;
    they oppress your inheritance.
They slay the widow and the foreigner;
    they murder the fatherless.
They say, “The Lord does not see;
    the God of Jacob takes no notice.”

Take notice, you senseless ones among the people;
    you fools, when will you become wise?
Does he who fashioned the ear not hear?
    Does he who formed the eye not see?
10 Does he who disciplines nations not punish?
    Does he who teaches mankind lack knowledge?
11 The Lord knows all human plans;
    he knows that they are futile.

12 Blessed is the one you discipline, Lord,
    the one you teach from your law;
13 you grant them relief from days of trouble,
    till a pit is dug for the wicked.
14 For the Lord will not reject his people;
    he will never forsake his inheritance.
15 Judgment will again be founded on righteousness,
    and all the upright in heart will follow it.

  1. For Strength and Confidence

    Heavenly Father, giver of life and health: Comfort and relieve your sick servant KBells., and give your power of healing to those who minister to her needs, that she may be strengthened in her weakness and have confidence in your loving care; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

  2. Many of you know that in my despair, when I do not possess the words needed I turn to the Book of Common Prayer. Years ago I read a book where the main character’s grandmother told her there wasn’t a problem that couldn’t be solved with a hot bath, a shot of bourbon, and the Book of Common Prayer. I often turn to two of these. One might be why I have such dry, itchy skin.
    KBELLS Yesterday, I didn’t have the words for you. Even today anything I may come up with on my own may have the tendency to sound trite. When we are suffering we don’t want platitudes and I am a threat to come up with dozens of them. 😉 (God never shuts a door that He doesn’t open a window. God sees the bigger picture, we only see what is in front of us…hmmm…I seem to have gone dry. That’s probably a good thing)
    I often have to remind myself of God being in charge. Sometimes I need Him to get with the program NOW! He laughs. It isn’t an evil laugh, but it is a deep chuckle.
    You have always been one of the funniest people I have known. I have no doubt that somehow you will find some humor in your situation and you will find a reason to laugh.
    I often have to remind myself that God didn’t ___________ to let ______________ happen. I don’t know what the blanks are in your life, but you do.

  3. My nephew called me last night. He let me know some things that BG has posted on Snapchat. I am hurt and disappointed although I am no longer surprised. She is making many, really bad choices in her life. I know she is headed for trouble, but my prayer has changed to letting it happen sooner rather than later. At 19 she can recover and when she is ready, I will be around to help her. If this drags on and she doesn’t straighten up sooner I may not be around.
    I told her, my passport is expired. I can’t do anything from here.

  4. Please keep my SIL in prayer, too, to find a better job opportunity or to find acceptance and contentment in the one he has. Pray for Designer Girl, his wife, especially.

    After being promised a job by more than one of his principals, the job was given to someone out of district and to a younger teacher. The district can now pay someone less and have them (maybe) for a longer period of time. These people were upset when my SIL was looking for a better job elsewhere last year and deliberately promised him something better this year early on. Then at the last minute pulled this. Needless to say, they are quite upset. It is one of those situations we hear of and yet nothing can be proved.

    Then they had the audacity to ask him to train this new teacher, since she is taking over his position. He said he would have enough preparing for his own new position and suggested she learn on her own as he had to do.

    The betrayal is what is really hurting him.

  5. How often I think of how God set the family up for us to see His heart. How he must ache when His children stray and refuse to come to Him where real comfort and help is found! Hurting with you, Kim and Kbells with your situation.

  6. Kim, that is the reason I stopped looking at husband’s FB, I did not appreciate what my newly grown children were saying and up to. I go on with my life, praying for them, but without the drama they are inflicting. My older children call them on it once in a while but it is rather pointless until they grow out of it, though the older ones will have made sure the youngers were forewarned. Eighteen year old keeps me apprised of anything I might actually need to know without inflicting all the garbage on me.

  7. All I could think of yesterday was we weep with those who weep. That’s all that came to mind at 1 this morning, praying for of so many of yesterday’s prayer requests. My life feels trivial compared to the severe tests so many of you are walking through.

    I can pray if nothing more.

  8. I have a book, 21 Most Effective Prayers of the Bible, by Dave Early. The following quote was meaningful to me. I shared it with my friend , Karen, yesterday and she cried. She had prayed throughout the years, but felt her prayers were not worthy for God to act on. She was a nominal Christian for most of her life. She was so thankful that God would store prayers even when they are feeble.

    The quote:
    “…’Teach us to pray’ is a prayer God loves to answer for several reasons. First, God delights in our prayers. Too often we wrongly assume that God tolerates our prayers when, in reality, He revels in them. In fact, they are so precious to Him that He collects them as beautiful bowls of incense perfuming His throne (Revelation 5:8). Because our prayers end up in heaven, they are some of a tiny handful of things that are eternal in nature. (The others are God, the Word of God, and the souls of people.)”

  9. Father God,

    Thank You for increasing the understanding of the importance and necessity of prayers for believers. Thank You for all the praying people on this blog. Over the years it seems the depth of the needs have increased. Sometimes I don’t feel I know how to pray over the seriousness of the needs. So today, I am thankful to know how valuable even feeble prayers are to you. Please help all those who are afflicted and in pain who are associated with this blog. Please act to bring to salvation the youth who have been prayed over for years to find a new and better way of life with Jesus as their focus and Master. Please help those who need to find work with benefits. Make a quick and straight path to their new employment, please. Thank You for the great example You have provided to us all here with the super long and loving marriage of Chaos and Elvera. Please help the rest of us be encouraged in tough times that it is a possibility for those who stay true to You to weather the storms of life with an eternal commitment to a spouse. Thank You for blessings great and small that we frequently overlook in giving gratitude to You. I pray in the beloved name of Jesus, Amen

  10. Revelation 5:8: When He had taken the book, the four living creatures and the twenty-four elders fell down before the Lamb, each one holding a harp and golden bowls full of incense, which are the prayers of the saints.

  11. Revelation 8:3,4: Another angel came and stood at the altar, holding a golden censer; and much incense was given to him, so that he might add it to the prayers of all the saints on the golden altar which was before the throne. And the smoke of the incense, with the prayers of the saints, went up before God out of the angel’s hand.

  12. Last night I was blessed to overhear Chickadee having a talk with (mostly to) Little Guy. They were both upset, because he was in trouble, & she had been yelling at him. I went to follow them upstairs but Chickadee had closed the door so he wouldn’t go back to the living room, so I stood outside the door, waiting for them to go up the stairs.

    As they stayed there, at the bottom of the stairs, Chickadee’s voice mellowed from yelling, to still sounding upset, to sounding emotional but compassionate & loving. I wish I could remember everything she said, it all brought tears to my eyes. The gist was that she admitted that she has “anger management issues”, as does he, & that she is sorry that she yells at him, & sorry for what she sometimes says, that she doesn’t mean it. She said she is working on her anger issues, & that they can help each other try to be better about handling their anger.

    She finished by telling him how much she loves him, & asking if he loves her, too. Of course, he said yes, but she told him he didn’t have to say yes if he didn’t feel it, that she would understand. But he reaffirmed that yes, he loves her.

    There was more to it than that, & after the initial anger had calmed down, it was sweet & beautiful. As I said, it brought tears to my eyes. When she opened the door (she assumed I was there, listening), I told her that, & that I am proud of her, & we hugged tightly. She had tears in her eyes, too.

    Please pray that my sweet Chickadee will turn to Jesus as she struggles to control her emotions.

  13. When I told Nightingale about that, she replied, humorously, “How dysfunctional! A person with Asperger’s & a six year old helping each other with anger management issues.” 🙂

  14. Heavenly Father,

    I pray for a release of remedies for Kbells that will eradicate all cancer from her body and restore her health. You know what and where, the yet untried and totally effective. I ask boldly knowing You are able. Your word says we do not have because we do not ask rightly. Well, I am asking that You would teach us to ask rightly so Kbells can be healed and feeling good healthwise, so much better in fact that she could not even imagine feeling that good. I pray You will do this to bring glory to Yourself for only You can do this thing. What is being asked could be asked of no other. After You accomplish what is being asked, people will only be able to attribute it to You. They can only say, ” This is of God. It is a miracle.” Please, God, let this happen for Your Son’s sake. The world needs to see Your great power to heal. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  15. I snapped at my husband. I feel enough pressure trying to get away from Guy and make this new opportunity work. I really don’t need to hear from him how much I need to make. I am well aware of what I need to make. I probably know down to the penny. My concern is earning enough to start funding my retirement account again. I don’t want to be working at Wal Mart and eating dog food when I am 80

  16. Update from my request yesterday:

    Third Arrow (adult daughter at home) and I had that conversation this evening. It went exceptionally well, and afterwards she said, “Thanks for sharing your wisdom with me.”

    To God be the glory. That was all Him — absolutely nothing in me.

    Thank you all so much for your prayers.
