Prayer Requests 5-1-17

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 57

Have mercy on me, my God, have mercy on me,
    for in you I take refuge.
I will take refuge in the shadow of your wings
    until the disaster has passed.

I cry out to God Most High,
    to God, who vindicates me.
He sends from heaven and saves me,
    rebuking those who hotly pursue me—
    God sends forth his love and his faithfulness.

I am in the midst of lions;
    I am forced to dwell among ravenous beasts—
men whose teeth are spears and arrows,
    whose tongues are sharp swords.

Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.

They spread a net for my feet—
    I was bowed down in distress.
They dug a pit in my path—
    but they have fallen into it themselves.

My heart, O God, is steadfast,
    my heart is steadfast;
    I will sing and make music.
Awake, my soul!
    Awake, harp and lyre!
    I will awaken the dawn.

I will praise you, Lord, among the nations;
    I will sing of you among the peoples.
10 For great is your love, reaching to the heavens;
    your faithfulness reaches to the skies.

11 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens;
    let your glory be over all the earth.

  1. Re-posting 6 Arrows’s requests from late last night per her request:

    Thanking you for all of your prayers, whether I request them or not. May I make some requests about things you could pray for me and my family for the month of May, if you think of it?

    (And do know that I will be praying for you and yours, as well, with the things I know are ongoing matters.)

    For immediate family:

    ~Hubby and me, health and finances.
    ~First Arrow, who will get to the end of his 6-month probationary period at his job in a couple of weeks. Prayers that his employer will keep him on after that.
    ~Second Arrow (and her fiance).
    ~Third Arrow, as she looks for a job.
    ~Fourth Arrow, safety as she begins to learn to drive.
    ~Fifth Arrow, now beginning puberty, and his developmental challenges.
    ~Sixth Arrow: no specific request, but she, like every other child, has needs, too.

    For extended family:

    ~My parents, with back and other pain.
    ~My widowed mother-in-law, mostly healthy but getting more tired.

    Music-related:

    ~As I teach my piano students.
    ~As I prepare 12 pieces for the Syttende Mai concert May 18.

    And, overall, that we would not grow weary in doing good.

    Thank you, friends.

    (If anyone sees this and would like to paste it into the May 1 prayer thread at a better time of day than I’m posting it now, I would be most grateful.)

    Blessings.

  2. My 87 year-old Uncle Frank who has hemophilia, receives his second hip replacement today. First one, last fall, went well and now he’s having a second, “to improve my golf swing.”

  3. A couple requests for Hubby:

    He/we received a letter in the mail today from our town hall, telling us there is a lien on our house due to unpaid taxes. But he has been paying our taxes, in full & on time. He’ll be going to the tax office on Wednesday to get it straightened out.

    Also, I think he may be suffering from some depression, possibly due to not getting enough sleep, & being worn down from years of that. This (if that’s what it is) has been exacerbating a couple bad attitudes he has, & those attitudes are very difficult for me to deal with. They don’t really make him happy, either.

    Please pray as you feel led to. Thank you.

  4. Michelle, I do not mind Medicare paying for expensive medical procedures if the goal is to lower someone’s golf score.

  5. Thanks for prayers. My cousin just posted a photo of him walking an hour after surgery and looking good!

    She noted that in addition to golf, he’s got a granddaughter to give away and dance with in October. 🙂
