Prayer Requests 3-3-17

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 3

Lord, how many are my foes!
    How many rise up against me!
Many are saying of me,
    “God will not deliver him.”

But you, Lord, are a shield around me,
    my glory, the One who lifts my head high.
I call out to the Lord,
    and he answers me from his holy mountain.

I lie down and sleep;
    I wake again, because the Lord sustains me.
I will not fear though tens of thousands
    assail me on every side.

Arise, Lord!
    Deliver me, my God!
Strike all my enemies on the jaw;
    break the teeth of the wicked.

From the Lord comes deliverance.
    May your blessing be on your people.

  1. That is such a peaceful Psalm, one that expresses complete confidence in the Lord no matter what the world brings against one.

    Update on the couple staying with my parents: The wife of the couple had to go to emergency yesterday. It turns out that she had pneumonia, but her symptoms were very atypical. Thinking back, she has probably had the infection for a while, but, nobody picked up on the clues. The man’s health is not good, he seems to get weaker and weaker. One little encouraging note – I mentioned that they weren’t Christians; however, sometimes, when my father isn’t around, the man will ask the blessing before eating. I heard him do it while I was at home, and when the man prayed, it sounded as if he really thought that God was there and he was genuinely thankful to him. There may be a seed of faith sprouting.

  2. Please pray for A, who began attending our church about a year ago with her three madcap daughters 8, 5, 3. A single mother having difficulty coping with the many problems the younger girls have, she was surprised when her ex-husband announced a court hearing for yesterday. She didn’t even mention it to the women at church helping her until Wednesday night, assuming it was nothing.

    He showed up with a lawyer and within minutes was granted full custody–600 miles away–with fairly draconian visiting rights for the mom. She had last night to pack up the children’s possessions and surrenders them this morning.

    We don’t know what the best answer is here, but the children are traumatized, as is the mom. Our church has been ministering to this family and are shocked as well.

    We know nothing, but desire God’s will to be done for the good of the girls and their divorced parents. Thanks.

  3. Seems those nice border guards going up into Canada, may know where the good roads are, but don’t necessarily know that trucks are prohibited on some of them. Prayer for wisdom.

  4. Kaitlyn’s rollercoaster ride continues. She’s having a rough day today and learned she likely won’t have her second chemotherapy tomorrow as her blood levels are too low. She also won’t be discharged and receive treatment as an outpatient. My heart just aches for her. The nurses say she should look a whole lot sicker than she does. She continues to bless those around her, however. Please also pray for her mom who believes in God but so far does not have a saving faith in Christ.
