Prayer Requests 12-17-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 82

God presides in the great assembly;
    he renders judgment among the “gods”:

“How long will you defend the unjust
    and show partiality to the wicked?
Defend the weak and the fatherless;
    uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.
Rescue the weak and the needy;
    deliver them from the hand of the wicked.

“The ‘gods’ know nothing, they understand nothing.
    They walk about in darkness;
    all the foundations of the earth are shaken.

“I said, ‘You are “gods”;
    you are all sons of the Most High.’
But you will die like mere mortals;
    you will fall like every other ruler.”

Rise up, O God, judge the earth,
    for all the nations are your inheritance.

  1. Thank you for your prayers. It’s starting to come out now–she worked 100 hours in the last two weeks and, “my job doesn’t let me cry.”

    This holiday season has been difficult for so many.

    The new mom and the baby got to the grandmother’s funeral–with a temperature of -30, at 2 o’clock Thursday morning. Her phone was stolen in the O’Hare restroom.

    Service Thursday afternoon went well, family is all back where they belong with all sorts of Christmas pressures–because they’re musicians, pastor wives, workers and Sunday school teachers.

    My blog post “Death at Christmas” has seen a huge increase in readers in the last two weeks.

    Stressors, pain, grief, overwhelming emotions–let’s love each other, pray for each other, extend grace and be thankful.

    Blessings to you all.

  2. This has been one of the most difficult years I have ever experienced, so I totally relate Michelle. I am worried about my brother’s feet with him being in that retail job at Christmas. He’s had diabetes for about sixty years. They need to be careful with their feet. Minimum wage is not worth ending up in a wheelchair.

  3. Son is home! It was an uneventful trip. Thank You for praying. We enjoyed a meal of spaghetti and my key lime birthday pie. We three peeps enjoyed it, and Miss Bosley came close in for a sniff of son’s pie when he was flipping through Christmas CDs. She waits for people to turn their back and then she moves In. It’s how she manages the curiosity that almost killed the cat.

  4. My best friend’s father-in-law (D) and sister-in-law (C) were in a serious car accident this weekend when a snow plow cut them off. The accident happened while traveling back home after a visit to an out-of-state relative. Both are hospitalized more than three hours from home with back injuries. C, who is D’s caretaker, will have to stay in the hospital longer, due to her broken back and in-hospital recovery time needed following the surgery she had yesterday. D’s other children (C’s siblings) are scattered throughout the Upper Midwest, although one of them lives in the same city that C and D live in.

    Prayers for C’s and D’s (who is 85 years old) recoveries, and for wisdom and good relations as the siblings (there are five altogether) make arrangements for D’s care in the interim. Thank you.

  6. Please pray for Becca’s kindergarten teacher, Mrs. B, and her family. Her youngest son passed away today from cancer. He’s been fighting it for about five years….She was one of Becca’s favorite teachers and a truly kind woman. I can’t imagine the pain of losing a child….
