Prayer Requests 12-2-16

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 63

You, God, are my God,
    earnestly I seek you;
I thirst for you,
    my whole being longs for you,
in a dry and parched land
    where there is no water.

I have seen you in the sanctuary
    and beheld your power and your glory.
Because your love is better than life,
    my lips will glorify you.
I will praise you as long as I live,
    and in your name I will lift up my hands.
I will be fully satisfied as with the richest of foods;
    with singing lips my mouth will praise you.

On my bed I remember you;
    I think of you through the watches of the night.
Because you are my help,
    I sing in the shadow of your wings.
I cling to you;
    your right hand upholds me.

Those who want to kill me will be destroyed;
    they will go down to the depths of the earth.
10 They will be given over to the sword
    and become food for jackals.

11 But the king will rejoice in God;
    all who swear by God will glory in him,
    while the mouths of liars will be silenced.

  1. I am surrounded by very sick people. This from my “step” cousin this morning. Attached to it was a photo of her mother in bed and my uncle combing her hair.
    “Today my mom will go on the liver transplant list. After deciding against it this summer because all these procedures would “give her a few more years” she went into liver failure over the past week. USAMC has been tremendous so far. Dr. H is top notch. She’s very close to the top of the list to receive. But that comes with the knowledge that someone else will have to pass and that’s hard to absorb.
    This next year and more will be hard and very trying. Patience does not come easily for me but I guess I prayed for it at some time in the past so God has given me every opportunity to use it.
    My mom and our family is very blessed to have you all surround us with support and love.”

  2. Thank you all for the many prayers during this past year for Art and for Karen. Yesterday Art and I ate at a restaurant we had not been to in quite some time. I told him I was thrilled we were finally able to be there again after not knowing how things would turn out. Then today I told Karen how happy I was to be able to take her to her doctor appointment. There were some points when she was almost a goner. So many people prayed for her and she thanks everyone. Some of her husband’s long time patients (vets) were praying for her, too. She still has plenty of health issues, but she seems overall to be better. She is hopeful to attend church with me and be baptised by immersion. It is never too late.

  3. Latest on my aunt
    Update on mom: she was transported to UAB this evening by Baldwin County’s finest Medstar employees. (BIG THANKS to the crew that volunteered to take her so late). While we were initially told she could go home today if her kidney function was better, and it was, her liver worsened to a 30 MELD score. Unfortunately, you can’t go home at that score. She is officially #2 on the transplant list.

    So we wait.

    She really appreciates all of the prayers and please continue to do so. Pray for safe travels of the EMS crew to and from because that’s a long ride) and please pray for the future donor’s family because they will be enduring a tragic loss for our enormous gain.
