It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.
Anyone else?
Psalm 62
1 Truly my soul finds rest in God;
my salvation comes from him.
2 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will never be shaken.
3 How long will you assault me?
Would all of you throw me down—
this leaning wall, this tottering fence?
4 Surely they intend to topple me
from my lofty place;
they take delight in lies.
With their mouths they bless,
but in their hearts they curse.
5 Yes, my soul, find rest in God;
my hope comes from him.
6 Truly he is my rock and my salvation;
he is my fortress, I will not be shaken.
7 My salvation and my honor depend on God;
he is my mighty rock, my refuge.
8 Trust in him at all times, you people;
pour out your hearts to him,
for God is our refuge.
9 Surely the lowborn are but a breath,
the highborn are but a lie.
If weighed on a balance, they are nothing;
together they are only a breath.
10 Do not trust in extortion
or put vain hope in stolen goods;
though your riches increase,
do not set your heart on them.
11 One thing God has spoken,
two things I have heard:
Power belongs to you, God,
12 and with you, Lord, is unfailing love;
and, “You reward everyone
according to what they have done.
I see Buzz Aldrin had to be evacuated from the South Pole due to illness. May his belief in our Saviour fill him with peace at this time.

I could use prayers for wisdom. I don’t know what my husband is going to find out at work today about what, if anything, will be different now that an outside company will be doing many of the duties that were my husband’s. Prayers for wisdom on how to encourage him, if needed, and to help keep my own fears or other possible negative reactions out of the conversation. Thanks.

AJ, I was wondering what Bible translation the psalms you’re posting is in? It reminded me of the ESV, but I looked up yesterday’s psalm in my ESV, and it didn’t match it exactly. I’m curious which this is?

Thanks for prayers; came home with a catheter for a week; not sure what’s up but hoping she’ll feel better. I’ve spent the day with Adorables.

One of our cats is certain to die in the next couple of hours. He is seventeen years old now. He has been a good mouser and a non demanding cat.

I’m sorry to hear that, Yapamom. Prayers for you and yours.

Pepper, our oldest male cat died this evening in his favorite place, resting peacefully by the fire.

Yapamom – I hope you know that my “likes” of your comments were to indicate prayer for your family, not that I actually like that your cat has died. I know (we all know) how hard it is to lose a beloved pet.

6 Arrows, the ESV makes random changes here and there. My husband and I both have it; we even have the exact same Bible (more or less–different colors, printed different years, but the same study Bible). When the SS teacher or the pastor says a different word or phrase than I have, I look at my husband’s Bible to see what it says, and often it matches (which means the person didn’t misread–but if it doesn’t match, then I don’t know if the person misread or if their ESV has yet another wording).

Cheryl, I didn’t know that about the ESV. We’ve only got one here. I should compare it with, say, BibleGateway’s ESV version, or other sites.

Thankful Pepper died peacefully, Yapamom. Still difficult, though.

Things went fine at work today for hubby, and he still did some maintenance. It doesn’t appear to him that things are really that much different.
Thank you for praying.

AJ’s scripture quote matches my NIV.

Kevin’s correct, it’s the NIV.

I have an NIV, too, but didn’t compare it with that. I guess it’s been too long a time since I’ve used that translation — I didn’t even recognize it anymore!
