Prayer Requests 9-16-16

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 143

¹Hear my prayer, O Lord, give ear to my supplications: in thy faithfulness answer me, and in thy righteousness.

And enter not into judgment with thy servant: for in thy sight shall no man living be justified.

For the enemy hath persecuted my soul; he hath smitten my life down to the ground; he hath made me to dwell in darkness, as those that have been long dead.

Therefore is my spirit overwhelmed within me; my heart within me is desolate.

I remember the days of old; I meditate on all thy works; I muse on the work of thy hands.

I stretch forth my hands unto thee: my soul thirsteth after thee, as a thirsty land. Selah.

Hear me speedily, O Lord: my spirit faileth: hide not thy face from me, lest I be like unto them that go down into the pit.

Cause me to hear thy lovingkindness in the morning; for in thee do I trust: cause me to know the way wherein I should walk; for I lift up my soul unto thee.

Deliver me, O Lord, from mine enemies: I flee unto thee to hide me.

10 Teach me to do thy will; for thou art my God: thy spirit is good; lead me into the land of uprightness.

11 Quicken me, O Lord, for thy name’s sake: for thy righteousness’ sake bring my soul out of trouble.

12 And of thy mercy cut off mine enemies, and destroy all them that afflict my soul: for I am thy servant.

  1. Mr P is supposed to have another surgery on Monday. This one isn’t serious, although it is a surgical procedure and he will have to spend the night in the hospital. This past Monday he went to have the lab work done pre-op. Yesterday the VA (see how long that took) called to tell him he had a staph infection. They had given him antibiotics to start taking today, but had him start them today. They called another prescription in to our local pharmacy.
Please pray he either won’t have the staph on Monday or they will cancel the surgery.

  2. Little Guy fell off his scooter backwards yesterday afternoon & hurt his left arm. We thought he was just being dramatic about it for a while, but as time went on, he was still babying the arm & saying it hurts. Nightingale doesn’t think it is broken (he’d probably be in a lot more pain), but she took him to the doctor this morning. I haven’t yet heard what the outcome of that visit was. (Either she had to take him for x-rays & is still waiting, or she’s already dropped him off at school & went somewhere herself.)

Then, early this morning, I somehow did something wrong with my right arm, up near the shoulder, & it is aching. I have to be very careful in how I use it.

Please pray for quick healing for both Little Guy & myself. Thank you.

  3. When I was Little Guy’s age I fell three feet off a swing set. My parents didn’t believe I was hurt. I sat on the front porch cradling the arm and crying until the neighbor came over to ask what happened.

I told him. He advised my parents to take me in for an x-ray. Hairline fracture.

    I was pretty smug after that . . .

  4. I did a cartwheel off a balance beam and landed wrong. I sprained my foot not my ankle. I had to threaten my father that if I died my blood was on his hands before he took me to the doctor. I was on crutches and everything.

    Poor little guy. 😦

  5. Since, as I start typing this, the new threads are not up yet, I’ll put this here, & also mention it later on the new prayer thread. . .

I had three little boxes of eyedrops that were prescribed for me to start using three days before my first cataracts surgery. I had them tucked off to the back of one of the kitchen counters, but Hubby insisted I move them. So then they were on a shelf above “my” desk (which has been taken over with some of Hubby’s stuff).

This morning as I was getting ready to babysit Little Guy, I noticed there were only two boxes. I looked around the general area, but could not find it. When Chrissy gets up (I let her sleep in when we babysit first shift) I will ask her to do a thorough search, as my eyes aren’t working so great these days. Please pray she finds it, as these were expensive, even with insurance. Thank you.
