Prayer Requests 8-9-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 105:1-8

¹O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek theLord.

Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

  1. Please pray for good communication among the staff at school. Things are being decided with no communication at all. There is a staff meeting tomorrow and I have a few questions and concerns.

  2. That’s frustrating, Jo. Praying your concerns are heard.

Please pray for 1st Arrow. He has a job interview via Skype this morning. He’s had no success in getting a job around here that is in his field of study, after graduating a year ago, and is now looking at possibilities in large metropolitan areas of the Midwest.

  3. Make It Man posted this on FB yesterday, for those of you not on FB:
“I am in Fairbanks rather unexpectedly. My father seems to be slipping away from us. I have been dreading this day and expecting it for years. Dad lost his leg to an aneurism quite a few years ago, but strokes and TIAs have complicated this even more. Recently dementia set in and now he’s sleeping all the time and no longer can respond.
We are at the end. It is only a matter of days now.
All of us are here with him. Kathy and I flew up Saturday and aunt Mary came last night.
We are sad to see him go, but also somewhat relieved to see his suffering come to an end. We grieve, but also rejoice that he will go home to be with our precious Lord.
Dad did his best to teach us the right way, and teach us real world skills. Life on the farm was a real education. I learned things I’d have learned nowhere else. And he also pointed us to God.
I’d say Dad did his job well. Good job Dad. I love you. God speed you on your way.”

  4. And this, a few minutes ago:
“We received the news this morning at 3:00 AM that Dad had passed away and gone to be with our dear Lord. We are thankful for his life and his great influence on ours. We are also thankful that he passed easily and peacefully. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.”

  5. Last night I posted a prayer request for my friend Jenn. Please take a look at it if you haven’t seen it already.

If I didn’t know Jenn & her parents, I would wonder if she is exaggerating, but sadly, she is not.

  6. Feeling tense and shaky this afternoon, anticipating 3rd Arrow’s wisdom teeth removal Thursday morning. 1st and 2nd Arrows both had complications afterward, and 3rd Arrow is my daughter with a history of fainting (about three times, that I remember). She doesn’t appear to be apprehensive about the surgery, though, and I don’t want my nervousness to be visible and affect her.

Too many medical issues in the last month in our family, and I guess I’m dreading the possibility that there may be more.

Prayers for stronger faith, please (and for successful surgery and recovery for daughter). Thanks.

  7. 6arrows….when Hannah had her wisdom teeth taken out, she had one of her shaking spells, couldn’t breath, fainted….the dental assistant gave her her inhaler…that wasn’t the problem…it was the anxiety attack that our pediatric cardiologist had diagnosed….they came rushing to the waiting room pleading for me to come….I asked them if they had a brown paper bag…they didn’t….I talked Hannah through it all, having her cup her hands together and take deep breaths….she was fine…….continued prayers for you and your precious ones…… ❤

  8. Thanks, NancyJill. That’s good to know about your experience with Hannah. I’ll be watching for things like that with 3rd Arrow. One of the times she fainted was due to that very thing — being afraid. Another time, pain and the sight of blood. And once standing too long in a small, very warm room. Thankfully we have air conditioning, but the other two reasons she fainted could be very real possibilities this time.

I really appreciate all your prayers. I’m afraid I won’t be able to catch her if she falls, as she’s just as tall as I am and weighs a little bit more. We’ll probably both end up on the floor!

I’ll be encouraging her to take it easy. Though she probably won’t need much convincing at first. 🙂
