Prayer Requests 7-26-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 93

¹The Lord reigneth, he is clothed with majesty; the Lord is clothed with strength, wherewith he hath girded himself: the world also is established, that it cannot be moved.

Thy throne is established of old: thou art from everlasting.

The floods have lifted up, O Lord, the floods have lifted up their voice; the floods lift up their waves.

The Lord on high is mightier than the noise of many waters, yea, than the mighty waves of the sea.

Thy testimonies are very sure: holiness becometh thine house, O Lord, for ever.

  1. Karen, I totally resonate with your feelings about “calling out” to God for your daughters. We have a “situation” with #2 son (we are convinced he is in an abusive marriage and trapped due to having a two year old daughter). Sometimes in my mind, I holler, “God, do something!!” I claim the parable about the widow who bothered the evil judge until he got tired of her bothering him and did what she wanted.
Long story how it came about, but I shared the situation with a Pastor of another church (where I’ve been attending a Wednesday night Bible study and candlelight service). I mentioned that we’d not even shared it with our own Pastor because he was new at the church two years ago when it first started and we were new there too. He kindly and gently said that we should – that we should “allow him to walk through it with us.” When I told my husband (he doesn’t go with me on Wednesday nights), he said he was wanting to do that, so was very encouraged by another Pastor suggesting it. I was wondering if you’d shared with your Pastor? I seem to remember yours is new, too, so maybe you hadn’t.

  2. That is good advice, Linda. Pastor Billy knows about 1st Daughter & Little Guy, & their situation, but we haven’t said much about 2nd Daughter. We really should.

I’m so sorry to hear about your son’s marriage. I’ll be praying about that. I think of that parable of the widow & the judge, too.

  3. Linda, I have a friend who’s brother was in an abusive marriage. We often only think of male to female abusive relationships. It seems there is still a stigma attached to the female to male abuse. It was very hard to get him out of the relationship but the family stuck together and was able to help him. There is a child in this situation too, but he is doing well and his dad spends a lot of time with him.

  4. An update: Thank you for the prayers for the pulled muscle in my thigh, which I mentioned last Friday. It was very painful on Friday, but has been steadily improving since then. Although it still needs a bit of babying, the discomfort is minor.

And Jenn’s dog Bubba is doing much better. Thanks for the prayers for him.
