Well, I’m definitely an outsider looking in on this election and do not feel particularly engaged — but are there any guesses for Trump’s VP? He says he’ll announce his choice Friday morning.
I hear you, bob. I’m amazingly disconnected from all of this — which feels very odd for me since I tend to follow presidential campaigns closely and enjoy watching the process play out.
This year? Not so much.
(Although I still think both conventions could be interesting to watch; distressing, but interesting.)

Internal documents from Missourians Organizing for Reform and Empowerment, a group organizing the protests in Ferguson after the death of Michael Brown, showed activists being paid.”

The Senate Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations disclosed in a massive report on Tuesday that the Obama administration provided U.S. taxpayer dollars to the OneVoice Movement, a liberal group that waged a clandestine campaign to smear and oust Netanyahu from office.
OneVoice, which was awarded $465,000 in U.S. grants through 2014, has been under congressional investigation since 2015, when it was first accused of funneling money to partisan political groups looking to unseat Netanyahu. This type of behavior by non-profit groups is prohibited under U.S. tax law.
The investigation determined that OneVoice redirected State Department funds to anti-Netanyahu efforts and that U.S. officials subsequently erased emails containing information about the administration’s relationship with the non-profit group.
The disclosure comes amid a massive effort by Congress to reform the State Department’s email practices in light of former Secretary of State and Democratic presidential frontrunner’s Hillary Clinton’s mishandling of classified materials.
The Washington Free Beacon revealed early Tuesday that new legislation would ban all State Department officials from using private email accounts and servers, as well as mandate annual reports about the leak of classified information.

Trott’s staff counted up the number of times the attorney general said she couldn’t answer a question or refused to give an “appropriate” response, and they had added up at least 74 instances prior to Trott’s questioning, during a hearing today of the House Judiciary Committee.”
“It’s one of two things: Either you’re saying that to avoid the appearance of impropriety in which case you should have recused yourself, or you’re trying to protect Hillary Clinton,” he concluded.”

Notable among them to me is Pat Smith, who has accused Hillary of lying to survivors families. She’s the mother of Sean, a foreign affairs officer who was killed in Benghazi.
Also Mark Geist and John Tiegen who were “operators” in Benghazi during the embassy attack as well. These two are credited with saving some lives in that debacle.
I hope they don’t spend the whole convention just letting her have it. A lot of the 2012 convention was letting Obama have it, and I don’t think it helped much.
