  1. And if Hillary is allowed to stack the court, it’ll be gone for good.

“Do pharmacists who oppose abortion have to provide morning-after pills? A federal judge invalidated a Washington state law requiring pharmacists to violate their religious principles in Stormans v Wiesman, but the Ninth Circuit overturned the district court. Alliance Defending Freedom represented Kevin Stormans and his family in this case, and produced this video explaining that the family had respectfully referred patients seeking morning-after pills to numerous other pharmacies that routinely stock it:

This case points to a much larger issue: the future of freedom for all Americans to live according to their faith and conscience at the workplace. Facilitated referrals are an existing, recognized, workable, and already implemented alternative that the state regularly permits for a host of non-religious reasons, and nationally respected pharmacy associations and the majority of states fully support the use of that alternative for religious reasons. The state has agreed that the Stormans’ referrals cause no harm. The 9th Circuit decision against the Stormans and the two pharmacists upsets decades of settled pharmacy practice. If that decision stands, it will be the first time that health care professionals have been forced to participate in what they consider to be an abortion. Thus, the U.S. Supreme Court has a strong foundation upon which to stop the state from forcing the Stormans and the pharmacists to choose between their livelihood and their faith and ensure that all Americans retain the freedom to peacefully live consistent with their religious beliefs and conscience.
This common-sense solution won’t even get a hearing at the Supreme Court despite its implications for religious liberty. The pharmacists appealed to the Supreme Court, but could not get four justices to agree to hear the case — although three passionately wanted to take it up:

Just one day after issuing a major ruling striking down a portion of a pro-life law in Texas saving thousands of babies from abortion and closing unscrupulous abortion clinics, the Supreme Court has made a second ant-life decision.

Today, the nation’s highest court refused to hear an appeal from pro-life pharmacists in Washington state who are challenging a state law forcing them to sell the morning after pull and abortion-causing drugs that violate their conscience as Christians instead of allowing them to refer customers to nearby pharmacies.

Justice Samuel Alito, writing on behalf of Clarence Thomas and Chief Justice John Roberts, issued a dissent calling the case “an ominous sign”:

  2. The elephant in the room shall not be named……

This is what happens when a Brotherhood plant like Valerie Jarrett and her flunkies hold sway over the part-time president/full-time golfer.

“Senior Obama administration officials refused to appear before Congress on Tuesday to explain the recent decision to purge all references to “Islamic terrorism” and radicalism from public documents, according to disclosures made Tuesday on Capitol Hill.

Top officials from the Justice Department and FBI declined to appear on Capitol Hill to answer questions from lawmakers about domestic terror attacks and an administration policy of scrubbing references to Islamic terrorism and similar terms from government materials, lawmakers said.

The policy has thwarted attempts by federal authorities to stop an increasing series of terror attacks from taking place on United States soil, according to Sen. Ted Cruz (R., Texas), chair of the Senate Judiciary subcommittee on oversight.

In the past year the Obama administration has twice ordered that mentions of the terror group ISIS and “Islamic terrorism” be purged “from highly significant public records,” Cruz said. One such effort took place in the aftermath of the recent terrorist shooting in Orlando in which the administration censored 911 transcripts of calls made by the shooter.

These efforts came amid other campaigns by the Department of Homeland Security to force its personnel to remove references to “jihad,” “sharia,” and other similar terms from material focused on methods to counter violent extremism, Cruz said.

“I would like nothing more than to speak with a government official about these bizarre decisions and omissions, especially in light of the most recent terrorist attack in Orlando by a radicalized man who had been interviewed three times by the FBI,” Cruz said.

“Indeed, this subcommittee invited two such witnesses: John P. Carlin, an assistant attorney general for the Department of Justice’s National Security Division, and Michael B. Steinbach, the executive assistant director for the FBI’s National Security Branch,” he said. “Both have refused to appear.”

Cruz blamed the administration’s policy for contributing to recent terror attacks in Orlando, San Bernardino, and Boston. There has been a “consistent effort by this administration to scrub any reference to radical Islamic terrorism, to pretend the threat does not exist, and tragically as a consequence of that, over and over again, we have instances where the administration has ample evidence of radical Islamic terrorists,” Cruz said.

“The consequence of a willful blindness, of a policy that is a matter of administration policy, refusal to acknowledge the threat, means over and over again this administration has allowed the threats to go forward,” he added.”

  3. This is minor compared to what’s coming in Cleveland later this year, but it’s still pretty bad. I dislike skinheads too, but it doesn’t give me the right to assault them. But if this is to be tolerated, I have a list of leftists that need a butt kickin’…..

“And I do mean melee. This is hand-to-hand combat, as the first clip below vividly captures. You’ll see thuggery at American protests sometimes, like when anti-Trump lefties egged and sucker-punched some of his fans after a rally in San Jose earlier this month, but watch below at 0:14 as a protester rushes in from the left, squares up, and breaks a board over the back of a guy’s head, dropping him cold. It looks like a fascist/communist street battle from the 30s. Maybe we’ve now reached that stage of Weimar America.

Reason has a nice write-up of what happened. The Traditionalist Workers Party, a white supremacist group, held a rally at the state capitol in Sacramento. “Anti-fascist” leftists showed up spoiling for a fight. They outnumbered the Nazis and, as best as anyone can tell, they were the ones who instigated the violence:

The first sign of violence came just before 11 a.m., when KCRA reporter Mike Luery and his cameraman were caught in an altercation with anti-fascist protesters shouting “no cameras” and demanding they leave.

“We’re not causing the problem; your belligerent people are causing the problem,” Luery told the crowd before someone knocked his mike from his hand and others tried to grab the camera. The pair were eventually shoved out of the crowd and crossed the street away from the protesters.

Damion Osborne, a Sacramento community activist who came out to join the anti-Nazi protesters Sunday, said more trouble erupted about 11:20 a.m. when a neo-Nazi with a stick, a sign and shirt with a swastika and the words “White Power” approached the crowd.

“He dodged a bottle and then a rock, then someone broke a rock over his back,” said Osborne, 26.”

Oh, and one of the inciters of this riot? A public school teacher.

“Update to this story. Clueless Yvette Felarca, national organizer for BAMN (By Any Means Necessary), fails to see she is the fascist she claims to fight. She’s admitting here to organizing a riot and assaults. Who gets to decide who is a fascist who must be ‘shut down’, if we don’t follow the rule of law? Why isn’t she under arrest?

By the way, what does Yvette Felarca, the women who led the group to beat people up for speech she didn’t like, do for a living? She’s a teacher at North Berkeley’s Martin Luther King Jr. Middle School. The school received an influx of calls to fire Felarca. A threat was allegedly made against the school, supposedly saying if she was not fired, someone would hurt the children.”

  4. Yes.

I took care of the comment, but I don’t see a way to work the rest of your question. It would be a huge hassle and restrict the 40 or so lurkers who came with us from World, but don’t comment, that we get everyday. Sorry. 😦

  5. I am one of the lurkers. I stop by most days to read comments on the News/Politics link. It is refreshing for me to hear respectful and rational conversation on a website.

  6. Karen,

There’s a feature on WordPress that shows the geographical location of visitors. It’s not real specific like what cities and what not, but I can tell how many visitors we had from The Gambia, PNG, Canada, the US and entire world. We have roughly the same everyday. I know how many post regularly too, minus the 10 spammers a day we get 😦 so yeah, about 40 would be a good guess.

    Hi Didymus. 🙂

  7. Let’s hope this does not pass. . .

“Russia’s Proposed Law: No Evangelizing Outside of Church
Evangelicals protest the law, which would severely limit where and how Christians share the gospel.”

“To share their faith, citizens must secure a government permit through a registered religious organization, and they cannot evangelize anywhere besides churches and other religious sites. The restrictions even apply to activity in private residences and online.”

  8. If it weren’t for bad ethics, Ol’ Charlie would have no ethics at all…

“Democrat Rep. Charlie Rangel has found himself in a bit of a pickle. After years of allegedly thumbing his nose at pesky things like rules, his supposed misdeeds may be coming back to bite him on the proverbial hind quarter.

A House ethics committee subpanel today found Democratic Rep. Charlie Rangel guilty of 11 of the 13 charges of ethics violations against him.
The panel, composed of four Democrats and four Republicans, emerged after private deliberation to announce their findings.

“This has been a difficult assignment,” committee chair Rep. Zoe Lofgren (D-Calif.) said. “We have tried to act with fairness, led only by the facts and the law, and I believe we have accomplished that mission.”

The subpanel will now submit its findings to the full ethics committee, which will schedule a public hearing to determine the appropriate sanctions to take against the longtime New York representative.”

  9. Karen, does that sound familiar! Shades of the old USSR, not surprising considering the office the Russian head of state held in the former regime. It confirms the suspicion that Putin is using the Russian Orthodox Church in the same way membership in the Communist Party was used – a method of control. Your founding fathers recognized that a state church was another way of keeping people under the state’s thumb.

  10. Huh. Possibly more blood on the Obama admin’s hands, via Fast and Furious? This would be a very big deal.

“One of the guns used in the November 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks came from Phoenix, Arizona where the Obama administration allowed criminals to buy thousands of weapons illegally in a deadly and futile “gun-walking” operation known as “Fast and Furious.”

A Report of Investigation (ROI) filed by a case agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tracked the gun used in the Paris attacks to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, “off book,” Judicial Watch’s law enforcement sources confirm. Federal agents tracing the firearm also found the Phoenix gun owner to be in possession of an unregistered fully automatic weapon, according to law enforcement officials with firsthand knowledge of the investigation.

The investigative follow up of the Paris weapon consisted of tracking a paper trail using a 4473 form, which documents a gun’s ownership history by, among other things, using serial numbers. The Phoenix gun owner that the weapon was traced back to was found to have at least two federal firearms violations—for selling one weapon illegally and possessing an unregistered automatic—but no enforcement or prosecutorial action was taken against the individual. Instead, ATF leaders went out of their way to keep the information under the radar and ensure that the gun owner’s identity was “kept quiet,” according to law enforcement sources involved with the case. “Agents were told, in the process of taking the fully auto, not to anger the seller to prevent him from going public,” a veteran law enforcement official told Judicial Watch.

It’s not clear if the agency, which is responsible for cracking down on the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, did this because the individual was involved in the Fast and Furious gun-running scheme. An ATF spokesman, Corey Ray, at the agency’s Washington D.C. headquarters told Judicial Watch that “no firearms used in the Paris attacks have been traced” by the agency. When asked about the ROI report linking the weapon used in Paris to Phoenix, Ray said “I’m not familiar with the report you’re referencing.” Judicial Watch also tried contacting the Phoenix ATF office, but multiple calls were not returned.”
