Good morning. Well, I know I keep asking for prayers, but here I go again. I couldn’t fall asleep until almost two and awakened at six….now struggling with an upset tummy…Becca’s dance class is coming over for a swimming party from 1-4….got lots to do before then….
Prayer for husband and sister in law as they drive to Indiana. Prayer for father in law there as he has surgery for broken hip. Prayer for wisdom for all as they work out the next few months. Getting him and his wife back to Florida, where she is scheduled for shoulder surgery in a month and if they should do that or keep him in Indiana or bring him here or whatever.
Prayers for our dear neighbors, Rich and Maria (the girls call them collectively “Richaria”). They are a lovely couple, probably in their early 40s who have no children, and this morning had to put their sweet, elderly German Shepherd, Hansie, to rest.
I should have asked you all to pray earlier for my colleague’s delivery. Baby born within 8 hours! All well and yet another reason to celebrate on yet another party weekend! Whee!
FIL is out of surgery. He broke the hip in four places, shattered rather. They had to use mesh to hold it together. They think he can be transported to Florida for recovery. Husband and sis in law are just leaving Wyoming headed into Nebraska. MIL is glad they are coming.
Prayers still for Carol’s friend Ben who remains hospitalized for mental issues — Carol is distressed as she’s not able to talk to him (when she called the hospital he declined to take her call). She also isn’t being kept much in the loop by the brother and sister-in-law.
Nice to have the new pastor and wife on board. First sermon today. Hopefully we will be as good for them as they are for us, pointing each other to God.
We have a new pastor, too. Today he preached for the third time at our church. I missed the second time — home with a sick child that week — but the sermons I heard were wonderful. He is a blessing to our congregation, and I hope we will be to him and his family as well.
Thanks for the prayers regarding my middle-of-the-night request. I got to sleep soon after that, and don’t have tired eyes today.
Speaking of new pastors. . .Well, Pastor Billy & Renee have been here for about 10 months, so they’re not quite new-new, but still new. Lee & I have been so impressed this young couple’s spiritual maturity & knowledge.
As with many new pastors, there was a honeymoon period where it seemed everyone loved him. Now that he has made some changes (which Lee & I believe were needed), some people are not so happy. In one recent week, they had to deal with someone spreading a false story about them on Facebook, & received a letter filled with complaints. Renee was in tears on the phone with me. (She had called to discuss something else, & that came up, but of course she didn’t divulge any details nor who sent the letter.)
So let’s pray for all our pastors, old & new, to be encouraged & strengthened by the Lord. And please pray for Pastor Billy & Renee to be blessed with a baby. (They have been trying to start a family for several years.)
Emily thinks she has a stress fracture in her leg. The only way to find out for sure is to go to an orthopedist, who would probably need to send her for an MRI (they don’t show up on x-rays). But the only orthos who accept her kind of insurance (the state “Husky plan”, which is Medicaid) & are still accepting new patients only work on hands.
Unfortunately, she needs to be on her feet eight hours a day when she’s training/working at the nursing home. Today she started feeling more shooting pain in her leg. Please pray for easing of the pain, & for healing of the fracture. Thank you.
(BTW, she probably got the stress fracture from training for a 10K her boyfriend signed them up for. No more running for her.)
Procedure doesn’t appear to have worked. Pain still there, thumb still worthless and I’m out over a weeks salary in deductibles Small chance it will get better.

Husband and sis in law are at the hospital. FIL is up and walking, and much relieved to have them there as is mother in law.

I ‘m having another procedure to try and fix my arm and hand. Please pray that it will work and nothing will go wrong.
