Prayer Requests 6-17-16

It’s Friday, so please remember to pray for Mumsee, Mike, and the Nestlings.

Anyone else?

Psalm 60

¹O God, thou hast cast us off, thou hast scattered us, thou hast been displeased; O turn thyself to us again.

Thou hast made the earth to tremble; thou hast broken it: heal the breaches thereof; for it shaketh.

Thou hast shewed thy people hard things: thou hast made us to drink the wine of astonishment.

Thou hast given a banner to them that fear thee, that it may be displayed because of the truth. Selah.

That thy beloved may be delivered; save with thy right hand, and hear me.

God hath spoken in his holiness; I will rejoice, I will divide Shechem, and mete out the valley of Succoth.

Gilead is mine, and Manasseh is mine; Ephraim also is the strength of mine head; Judah is my lawgiver;

Moab is my washpot; over Edom will I cast out my shoe: Philistia, triumph thou because of me.

Who will bring me into the strong city? who will lead me into Edom?

10 Wilt not thou, O God, which hadst cast us off? and thou, O God, which didst not go out with our armies?

11 Give us help from trouble: for vain is the help of man.

12 Through God we shall do valiantly: for he it is that shall tread down our enemies.

  1. Mr. P says that he is sore from the procedure yesterday. Anyone would be, they put wire through his skin, muscles, and into his vertebrae. He says that he is not in pain from the usual sources. I truly pray this works for him.
He is supposed to get up today and walk around, do a few things that would normally cause him to feel pain. He is not to lift anything over 5 pounds. Of course, he will have to go back Monday and have the trial removed, and then it will probably be the 3rd week of July before they could do the permanent one.

  2. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the many blessings You continue to give. I sometimes ponder how such a mighty greatness as You are could even be, not in the sense of an unbeliever, but just in the pure awe of what is beyond my understanding. Thank You for letting us know a small part of You that we individually grasp.

Please bless Chas and Elvera all day long, and all through the unpacking and reorganizing, and through learning new paths inside and outside their home. Please let them feel Your loving hand upon them all the way through this.

Please help Mr. P with, all he is experiencing. May he feel relief from that nagging pain and feel good as he has hope for a better future. Thank You that he has Kim helping him through these days and nights. I pray Your love to infuse their relationship and seal it against hurt and unforgiveness. Thank You for blessing Kim and BG through their trip. May they experience ripples of goodness based on that trip for the rest of their lives.

I pray in Jesus’ name, Amen

  3. Kim – I’m thinking that if it is working, why not leave it in until the permanent procedure in July? But I guess there must be a good reason.

  4. Husband has resigned from the company. He thinks it takes too much time away from the family. Prayer that he will accept his decision and not get resentful. He does not normally get that way. No regrets. And with the CDL, he ought to be able to pick up a job more to his liking.

  5. Remember the little girl, Dakotah, who almost died from pneumonia about a year & a half ago? She is having “smile surgery” today, on one side of her face. (She has Moebius Syndrome like me, & hers affects both sides of her face, while mine mainly affects the right side.) The other side will be done at another time.

There are a couple methods of smile surgery. In a nutshell: doctors take a muscle from the thigh (at least in one of the methods), & it is kind of “slung” in the face from the jaw up the side of the face & down again. In time, the patient learns to bite down on the back teeth to have the muscle draw the cheek into a smile. It doesn’t look exactly “natural”, but it doesn’t look weird, either, & people who have had it done are thrilled to be able to smile.

The surgery will take about 12 hours. Please pray all goes well, & that Dakotah has a quick & low-pain recovery. (She is also autistic, which could affect how she reacts to the recovery period.)

There is a photo from Easter with Dakotah & a couple of her cousins that is sweet & heartbreaking at the same time. Dakotah had her hands on either side of her mouth, kind of squishing her cheeks upward. She was trying to make a smile that way.

  6. More stolen stuff in fourteen year old boy’s room. It does not appear he is stealing much from others, just family. And it is all inconsequential, other than the Ipod. Something amiss with that boy. Now I am trying a new tact. Every time I find something belonging to others in his room, I am removing something of his. Soon, his room will be empty. Prayer for wisdom.

He also likes to assemble little devices with dead batteries and wires and electric tape. Boy may need more help than we can give him.
