  1. Well in the rush to blame a white guy for the incident in LA the left was so sure they had a right winger to blame. Imagine their disappointment now that we find out he’s a gay/bi man who seems to support Bernie Sanders. Why he was headed to a gay pride event with guns and explosives remains to be seen.

    http://www.latimes.com/local/lanow/la-me-ln-gay-pride-la-weapons-20160612-snap-story.html

“Authorities on Sunday were trying to determine the intentions of an Indiana man with a cache of weapons, ammunition and explosive-making materials in his car and apparent plans to attend the L.A. Pride festival in West Hollywood.

Santa Monica Police Chief Jacqueline Seabrooks initially said on Twitter that the 20-year-old man told one of her officers after he was arrested that he wanted “to harm Gay Pride event.”

But Lt. Saul Rodriguez said later the tweet was a misstatement. He said the suspect told investigators that he was going to the Pride festival but said he did not make additional statements about his intentions.

“It was a misstatement,” Rodriguez said. “Unfortunately, she was given incorrect information initially, which indicated that that statement was made; however, that statement never was made. He did indicate that he was planning on going to the Pride festival but beyond anything as far as motives or his intentions that statement was never made nor did any officer receive that statement.”

“Howell allegedly pointed a gun at his neighbors in the October incident, according to a News and Tribune article. In the article, witnesses also described Howell as having pointed his gun at his boyfriend in an earlier incident.

“James is going to get someone hurt,” one witness said, the article said. “He needs to stop pointing guns at people.”

Greeson said that Howell harbored no ill will toward gays or lesbians and added that Howell was bisexual.”

Looks like this narrative is gonna need to be rewritten.

  2. My what a tangled web…..

    http://counterjihad.com/isis-infiltrated-homeland-security-orlando-terrorist-worked-major-dhs-contractor

“The Orlando nightclub terrorist who pledged allegiance to ISIS worked almost a decade for a major Department of Homeland Security contractor, raising alarms that ISIS sympathizers and agents have infiltrated the federal agency set up after 9/11 to combat terrorists.

Officials say Omar Mir Seddique Mateen, an Afghan-American who held two firearms licenses and a security officer license, was employed by the security firm G4S Secure Solutions USA Inc. since Sept. 10, 2007. The Jupiter, Fla.-based company merged with the Wackenhut Corp. after 9/11 and assumed federal contracts.

“G4S supports the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Customs and Border Protection (CPB), with its operations at the U.S. Mexico border and with U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) to transport illegal immigrants in selected urban areas,” the company says in a brochure, titled “Providing Manpower Solutions for Government Services.””

“The security contractor also provides security guards and other security services for “90 percent of U.S. nuclear facilities.”

G4S uses fortified buses to transport “hundreds of thousands of illegal immigrants” from city to city and from cities to the U.S.-Mexican border. But earlier this month, Judicial Watch revealed G4S has been quietly moving and releasing van loads of illegal aliens away from the border to interior American cities.””

“It’s not clear if the 29-year-old Mateen worked on any federal contracts or dealt with federal inmates. One of his jobs was to help transport and guard state and local prisoner youths in Florida. The subsidiary he worked for — G4S Secure Solutions USA Inc. — is based in Jupiter, Fla., which is located just south of Mateen’s home in Fort Pierce, Fla.

It’s also not immediately known if he had federal security clearances, or what kind of security background check G4S administered before hiring Mateen.

But he continued to guard prisoners despite reports he openly praised ISIS in conversations with co-workers, and even though he had been under federal investigation for terrorism ties since at least 2013.”
    —————————-

While many will be shocked by this, anyone who has been paying attention knows they’ve infiltrated throughout DHS and the White House, welcomed with open arms by Obama. This isn’t shocking at all. But hey, we can all rest easy knowing our nuclear facilities are secure, right?

And remember from yesterdays links, this is the company that continued to employ this terrorist even after he was reported by co-workers.

  3. On blaming Christians for Orlando (seriously, I’ve seen this expressed consistently since yesterday’s attacks — Christianity is the real danger here, until churches can be brought in line with the popular culture; or, if not, fully ostracized):

Bush.

… an ACLU lawyer named Chris Strangio tweeted: “The Christian Right has introduced 200 anti-LGBT bills in the last six months and people blaming Islam for this. No.” …

  4. Remember the guy who stripped at the Libertarian Party convention? Someone (in National Review, I think) wrote that it looked like the Libertarians were having a frat party & calling it a convention.

I just read an account of that that says he was booed off the stage, & many complaints were lodged against him. Now he has been suspended from the Libertarian Party.

Kyle (former WMBer) commented on our mutual friend’s post about this that libertarians are indeed serious people who read books, philosophize, & think deeply about issues. They can also, like anyone else, let their hair down & have fun, but were not happy with the “fun” the stripper-man tried to have. (He was doing that in protest of who the party nominated.)

What a chaotic and volatile mix of charges and counter-charges flying around today over the Orlando attack.

I really fear our country’s in a total meltdown.

    Islamic Fanaticism, Revisited

I posted this article on November 20, 2015. In view of the June 12, 2016 Orlando Massacre of so many innocent people by a fanatic Muslim, I am posting the article again here today. By the way, note that Islam and Muslim are both used to describe the religion revealed to the Prophet Mohammed. The difference is that Islam refers to the act of submitting to the will of Prophet Mohammed while a Muslim refers to the person who participates in the act of submission. Here is the article that I posted in LinkedIn on November 20, 2015:
    *****************************************************************************************
The article below is attributed to Emanuel Tanay (1928 – August 5, 2014), who in 1943 escaped from occupied Poland with his mother and sister to Slovakia and then Hungary. They were liberated in January 1945 in Budapest. He immigrated to the United States after World War II. He was Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at the Wayne State University Medical School in Detroit, Michigan. Tanay died on August 5, 2014, following a lengthy battle with prostate cancer. He was 86. So far as I (Semoon) can determine, the fictional report “A German’s View on Islam” falsely attributed to Dr. Tanay. The article was written by Marek. Some say that Tanay was one of the first people who forwarded Marek’s article to a wider audience. On February 21, 2006, Canadian Paul Marek published on his blog Celestial Junk an article titled “Why the Peaceful Majority is Irrelevant.” In passages, Marek warned about the dangers of Islamic fanaticism and dismissed as irrelevant the notion that the overwhelming majority of Muslims are peaceful. Now, Semoon’s LinkedIn Connects: this is all I can come up with at this time about the article below. I have no idea of how much of this review is true or false. Go ahead and read. Let us share anything you know or think about the article, while keeping in mind that it was written about 10 years ago.
    A German’s View on Islam
We are told again and again by ‘experts’ and ‘talking heads’ that Islam is the religion of peace and that the vast majority of Muslims just want to live in peace. Although this unqualified assertion may be true, it is entirely irrelevant. It is meaningless fluff, meant to make us feel better, and meant to somehow diminish the specter of fanatics rampaging across the globe in the name of Islam.
The fact is that the fanatics rule Islam at this moment in history. It is the fanatics who march. It is the fanatics who wage any one of 50 shooting wars worldwide. It is the fanatics who systematically slaughter Christian or tribal groups throughout Africa and are gradually taking over the entire continent in an Islamic wave. It is the fanatics who bomb, behead, murder, or honor-kill. It is the fanatics who take over mosque after mosque. It is the fanatics who zealously spread the stoning and hanging of rape victims and homosexuals. It is the fanatics who teach their young to kill and to become suicide bombers.
The hard, quantifiable fact is that the peaceful majority, the ‘silent majority,’ is cowed and extraneous. Communist Russia was comprised of Russians who just wanted to live in peace, yet the Russian Communists were responsible for the murder of about 20 million people. The peaceful majority were irrelevant.
China’s huge population was peaceful as well, but Chinese Communists managed to kill a staggering 70 million people.
The average Japanese individual, prior to World War II, was not a warmongering sadist. Yet, Japan murdered and slaughtered its way across South East Asia in an orgy of killing that included the systematic murder of 12 million Chinese civilians, most killed by sword, shovel, and bayonet.
And who can forget Rwanda, which collapsed into butchery. Could it not be said that the majority of Rwandans were ‘peace loving’?
History lessons are often incredibly simple and blunt. Yet for all our powers of reason, we often miss the most basic and uncomplicated of points: peace-loving Muslims have been made irrelevant by their silence. Peace-loving Muslims will become our enemy if they don’t speak up, because like my friend from Germany, they will awaken one day and find that the fanatics own them, and the end of their world will have begun.
Peace-loving Germans, Japanese, Chinese, Russians, Rwandans, Serbs, Afghans, Iraqis, Palestinians, Somalis, Nigerians, Algerians, and many others have died because the peaceful majority did not speak up until it was too late.
Islamic prayers have now been introduced into Toronto and other public schools in Ontario, and, yes, in Ottawa too while the Lord’s Prayer was removed (due to being so offensive?! To whom? Not to the vast majority of Canadians!).
The Islamic way is only peaceful until the fanatics move in.
In Australia, and indeed in many countries around the world, many of the most commonly consumed food items have the halal emblem on them. Just look at the back of some of the most popular chocolate bars, and at other food products in your local supermarket. Foods on aircraft have the halal emblem, just to appease the privileged minority who are now rapidly expanding throughout the world.
In the U.K, the Muslim communities refuse to integrate and there are now dozens of “no-go” zones within major cities across the country that the police force dare not intrude upon. Sharia law prevails there, because the Muslim community in those areas refuses to acknowledge British law.
As for we who watch it all unfold, we must pay attention to the only group that counts — the fanatics who threaten our way of life.
Thanks for your reading; please share your thoughts regardless of whether you support or oppose the gist of the article.

“Mass shooter Omar Mateen’s father Seddique Mateen recently visited Congress, the State Department and met political leaders during a trip to Washington, DC.
Mateen, who made the trip in April, is seen in social media posts posing in front of the State Department and Democratic Foreign Services Committee offices.
The Afghanistan native, who also regularly writes open letters to President Barack Obama, has expressed gratitude Afghan Taliban who hosts the Durand Jirga Show on a channel called Payam-e-Afghan, which broadcasts from California.

Photo captions from his DC trip describe meetings with the Foreign Relations Committee and a trip to a hearing for Afghanistan security, according to the Independent Journal.
Pictures from 2015 show Mateen meeting Reps Charlie Rangel, Dana Rohrabacher and Ed Royce. Royce is the Chairman of the United States House Committee on Foreign Affairs.”

“And in another, he tells the camera: ‘Our brothers in Waziristan, our warrior brothers in [the] Taliban movement and national Afghan Taliban are rising up.”

  8. And Al Sharpton would like you to know that if you criticize Islam, then you’re an accomplice to terrorism. I think the left’s favorite media whore is losing it.

“As we continue to denounce hatred, whether against the LGBTQ community or the Muslim community, we must remain united in our resolve to keep our great nation progressing forward. This is the most controversial and stressful of times; how we respond will be crucial.

Our great civil rights icon, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., once stated:

“The ultimate measure of a man is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he stands at times of challenge and controversy.”

The test before us is whether we will be an accomplice to terrorism by perpetrating Islamophobia or homophobia in work or deed, or whether we are going to be part of those that say we are going to fight terrorism by uniting against hatred in all of its forms. Let us stand tall together; or else we will fall apart in the worst way. For hostility and division will only give evil what it wants.”

  9. Heaven knows I have been wrong about most things this election cycle but I think Trump may have won the election during the last couple of days. Hillary and Obama blamed the Orlando killings on assault rifles. Trump blamed them on Islam and renewed his call for a ban on Muslim immigrants. That could be game, set and match for Trump.

  10. Huh. This would certainly change the narrative a bit…

    http://www.wsbtv.com/news/trending-now/orlando-shooter-omar-mateen-was-gay-former-classmate-says/341204498

“A former classmate of Omar Mateen’s 2006 police academy class said he believed Mateen was gay, saying Mateen once asked him out.

The classmate said that he, Mateen and other classmates would hang out, sometimes going to gay nightclubs, after classes at the Indian River Community College police academy. He said Mateen asked him out romantically.

“We went to a few gay bars with him, and I was not out at the time, so I declined his offer,” the former classmate said. He asked that his name not be used.

He believed Mateen was gay, but not open about it. Mateen was awkward, and for a while the classmate and the rest in the group of friends felt sorry for him.”
