    I read the sweetest book over the last few days. It was called The Wedding Pearls. An adopted woman’s birth mother and grandmother find her and want her to take a trip around the state of Texas. As most of my pleasure reading does it had a happy ending but the journey was the story.

  5. Good sunny and bright morning! It is a lovely day….and I get to spend it indoors working! I do have a beautiful view of Pikes Peak from the shoppe window though….and that mountain is heavy laden with lots of snow! That is once again a beautiful photo up there!! 🙂

  6. Thank you for the birthday wishes. I am in my 60th year, having just completed the 50s. Of course, in our system I’m 59. Kevin sames I should be feeling in my prime. I guess you could say that since 59 is a prime number. But is it mine?

  7. And then you skin them and sell their hides to a furrier and it gets back the price of ammo. Of course, I am not certain the LA coyotes carry the kind of fur that a furrier will pay for.

  9. I don’t think the pictured coyote in Donna’s story would sell well. Perhaps California should put out some air conditioners to bring the outdoor temps down into the dog park range so they can develop some more valuable coats.

    Beautiful picks, I love purple flowers. And I like that frog. 🙂 I think I sent AJ some sunning turtle photos a few weeks ago too?

    Mumsee, our coyotes clearly need some help in the personal coat care category. The way some of them look is something of an embarrassment for those of us living so close to Hollywood.

    Our FB community pages used to be filled with pictures of homeless people in tents. Now the coyotes have taken over and there are video clips and photos of coyotes everywhere.

    In fact, there’s some speculation that the homeless may be feeding the coyotes (intentionally or unintentionally via their campsites), which of course only encourages them to hang around.

    So Bernie is coming to our town now, too, on Friday night for an appearance hosted by the local dockworkers’ union. He’s everywhere these days, really making a play to win in California. I’m kind of surprised that the polls aren’t more competitive, last one I looked at had Hillary ahead by 10 points (and our own newspaper chain poll had her leading by 17 points, which I don’t really believe can be accurate).

    But I digress to the political thread …

  15. Don’t you have some chic shops where they could pick up something? Maybe a faux fur? Perhaps they are looking into developing their own look using cat furs. Who knows the mind of a coyote.

    We are fine Mumsee. Somebody came by to look at the house today.
    I took Elvera to lunch and to get a haircut. It takes a long time for women to get haircuts.
    I”ve never been in a woman’s barber shop before..

    When will you move. Sometimes a house shows better furnished and sometimes it shows better empty. It is always hard to tell how it will swing.

    Do they really read that stuff??.

    I don’t know when I will move. I close on the Greensboro house on 3 June.]
    It is available for occupation on 10 June. I may move then.
    But if something is happening here, I may wait until.it is clear.

    I would like to get this settled. Elvera moreso. We’ve had four views in the week it’s been on the market. But no offers. Elvera thinks we may have to give the place away.
    I’m going to hold out for money.

    It’s on the internet, but I don’t know how to get to the site. I saw it on e-mail.

  22. They have strange magazines to read in those saloons. People really read that stuff?

    I don’t know when we will be moving. We close on the Greensboro house on 3 June. It is vacant on 10 June. We may move then.

    I am anxious for this to be settled. Elvera moreso. We/they have shown the house four times since last Wednesday, but no offers. Elvera says we may have to give it away.
    I’m holding out for money.

  23. Anon. A serious question.

    We plan to move our furniture to Greensboro. Makes sense.
    However, the house we’re moving to has a smaller living room than this house.
    We have, in this house, a very large sofa and chair. It will “go”, but not “fit” in the Greensboro house.

    Would it be appropriate to offer the living room furniture to someone who buys this house?

  24. WooHoo! Phone is sick enough to warrant a new one!

    Why are there always so many time consuming errands to run?

    It is much warmrer out today which makes me wish I had mowed yesterday.

    Chas, you might consider donating the couch and chair or at least the couch to the church you are leaving. Churches find uses for such items and you could count it as a charitable donation.

  27. Even at the post office. That is where folks drop off things you buy from them. I bought some plastic basket/containers for my classroom. The post office was closed twice this week when I went by, which I knew, but I could hear the gal in the back. So I called out and she was happy to open the door and give me my things. Of course we took her cookies when we had the kinder field trip.

  29. I did not like errands in Greece. To pay the electric bill, one had to stand in line at the post office and the line usually extended back and forth and out the door so it was a long wait. And everything was Greek to me. I don’t do errands if I can help it and I have been able to avoid them for the past ten years or so.

    Monopoly game is finally over. The older two went out quickly as neither could remember to collect two hundred dollars or their rent. The eight year old got those nearly every time until the end. But we have done it and don’t have to again for a long time.

  32. Chas, have your agent “mention” it when the house is being shown. It can’t really go on a contract because it is considered “chattel” property and banks don’t make mortgages on furniture. Here it would read “sofa and chair in living room to convey at no value”. If there is payment for it, it would be handled outside of closing.

  33. I went out on another errand and the road was blocked with police officers directing me in the opposite direction from my plans. I decided it best to head back home. I looked up the raffia report which said a garbage truck is on fire. Wasn’t someone just saying how it is always something? And, Jo, considering this alternative, I will say again, your errand running sounds fun, but mine is definitely more challenging, LOL!

  35. Pictures can be deceiving. Since we will soon be looking for another place, I drove past some houses I saw on Realtor.com. One looked much bigger on line. Another didn’t show the steep hill one has to use to get to the driveway. Wouldn’t be able to go anywhere in snow or ice. At least one of them looked bigger in reality than it did on line. We’ll look at that one.
