Spent over six hours at school today and it was refreshing. No hurry or pressure, just walking around getting things prepared. No one else seems to clear my desk off. 😉
I cleared my desk off.
I cleared everything away so prospects could look at the house.
Now! I can’t find anything because nothing is where it’s supposed to be.
No kidding!
Elvera couldn’t find her nightie so she slept in her gown (evening housecoat) last night.
I lost my wallet for about 30 minutes. Finally found it in a drawer I put “stuff” in. I looked through all my clothes and into the truck before considering the drawer.
The house is a neat as I can get it.
It looks like nobody lives here.
Just wait until you move, Chas, then you’ll really not be able to “find” stuff. 🙂
🙂 Saturday, I love Saturdays
🙂 I’m finally getting a much-needed hair trim
😦 Need to pick up and clean around here
😦 I still have to call some people for estimates on work that needs to get done (roof, patio and front porch overhangs and frames for starters, ugh) — I seem to be paralyzed when it comes to that right now
🙂 The cat is feeling better
🙂 I discovered that some annoying skin rashes I’ve dealt with for many months now, off and on, may have been caused by the (strong) Dial antibacterial bar soap I’ve been using. I’ve switched to Cetaphil body wash (and a “skin-calming” body wash with lots of oils in it, made by Eucerin) over the past few days and — voila! — no more problems. That was easy. (And thanks to the Internet and all the information/research that’s so readily available to us now.)
😦 🙂 ? Still not crazy about Trump, to put it mildly, but this election is interesting to watch. I keep hoping things may turn out not as awful as we think it will. The country’s in a dire state, that’s for sure, lots at stake.

Donna, I have horrible, itchy skin. Cetaphil and Eucerin are about the best I have found. I have prescription salve for when it gets unbearable, but it, over the years has caused me to lose some of the pigment in the skin on my legs. I have even taken a bowl of ice water and tea towel and wrapped my legs. Eucerin is my best friend.
Ironically, I would scrub-scrub even more with the Dial when I had a flareup — now I suspect I was only making it worse. I’ve been using OTC creams when spots flared up, now maybe I won’t have to use those so much.
I actually love the Cetaphil & Eucerin, I didn’t think I’d feel “clean” without scrub-scrub-scrubbing with my harsh, antibacterial bar soap, but I do. 🙂 And a lot less itchy, chafed & sore … I’ve never had skin allergy issues until fairly recently (a nickel allergy was the first to appear some years ago), I could use any kind of soap with no problems — but I guess our bodies change. I seem to be more sensitive to some of those harsher chemicals.
I have had eczema on my hands for years and finally figured it was the chemicals. And I don’t use many of those cleaning things. Dishwashing can be very painful. Anyway, I now wash my hands in olive oil with tea tree oil added and peppermint oil added and my hands are generally pain free unless I wash dishes without the gloves. And I made it through the winter with very little illness.
🙂 Weekend with two sets of grandchildren, 5 soccer games, new baby visit, etc.
😕 Forgetting the two presents I have had wrapped for two months, sitting in my kitchen. Birthday presents were forgotten in all the rush, because of the new baby.
🙂 Love living in a town where someone can post on the town’s Facebook “Bulletin Board” page: “Is someone missing a cow. It’s loose on Stafford Street,”
🙂 |) Last weekend before D2 gets married. She’ll still be close (~2 hours away) but we probably won’t see her as often. We had an impromptu supper tonight with all our children and grandchildren at D1’s house. Future SIL only one not here.
🙂 Only one more day with students. It may be the last time since I might get the new job. I haven’t said anything to them since many are depending on my being there next year to teach the dual credit classes. I’ll tell them tomorrow of the possibility of my leaving. They’ll survive.

🙂 I have a car! Youngest sibling and spouse needed a larger vehicle to accommodate three children’s car seats, and they gave me their old car.
🙂 A father who is able and willing to fix up the car for me (some rust removal and replacement of the brake pads was needed).
🙂 A family which is one hundred percent behind me as I move forward into the next thing the Lord has given me to do.

My house does not look like that. Even though it is Saturday Clean Up.

My skin is sensitive too, especially to fragrance. The Rid that I am putting on daily to keep away mosquitoes is really helping

And there have been a few bear sightings in yards, too.
Stafford is a combination of rural & suburban. It’s a neat combo!
