Prayer Requests 5-2-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 18:1-20

¹I will love thee, O Lord, my strength.

The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.

I will call upon the Lord, who is worthy to be praised: so shall I be saved from mine enemies.

The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid.

The sorrows of hell compassed me about: the snares of death prevented me.

In my distress I called upon the Lord, and cried unto my God: he heard my voice out of his temple, and my cry came before him, even into his ears.

Then the earth shook and trembled; the foundations also of the hills moved and were shaken, because he was wroth.

There went up a smoke out of his nostrils, and fire out of his mouth devoured: coals were kindled by it.

He bowed the heavens also, and came down: and darkness was under his feet.

10 And he rode upon a cherub, and did fly: yea, he did fly upon the wings of the wind.

11 He made darkness his secret place; his pavilion round about him were dark waters and thick clouds of the skies.

12 At the brightness that was before him his thick clouds passed, hail stones and coals of fire.

13 The Lord also thundered in the heavens, and the Highest gave his voice; hail stones and coals of fire.

14 Yea, he sent out his arrows, and scattered them; and he shot out lightnings, and discomfited them.

15 Then the channels of waters were seen, and the foundations of the world were discovered at thy rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of thy nostrils.

16 He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters.

17 He delivered me from my strong enemy, and from them which hated me: for they were too strong for me.

18 They prevented me in the day of my calamity: but the Lord was my stay.

19 He brought me forth also into a large place; he delivered me, because he delighted in me.

20 The Lord rewarded me according to my righteousness; according to the cleanness of my hands hath he recompensed me.

  1. In yesterday’s confirmation sermon the Bishop preached on Revelations 21 about the new heaven and the new earth. The song I wanted to share with you yesterday was based on that passage. The Bishop told us that with a sermon people tend to remember it for 3 or 4 days, but teach them a song and they always remembered it. He went on to say that the Psalms were songs of praise so that the Israelites could remember what God had taught them.

The song was written by our music director and has been recorded but not released.
I AM MAKING ALL THINGS NEW
Then I saw the heavens open, for the former things were past
And I heard my Savior singing; “I have come for you, at last!”
I will wipe away death’s sorrow; you will no more cry or grieve.
To the thirsty I give healing; from the spring of life come drink

“FOR BEHOLD, I AM MAKING ALL THINGS NEW!
WRITE THIS DOWN; EVERY WORD IS TRUE
TELL THE WORLD WHAT I COME TO DO:
I AM MAKING ALL THINGS NEW”

Then I saw God’s holy city, New Jerusalem descend
And a voice announced with splendor,
I will dwell with you, my friends!
I will be your God forever, you will never leave my side.
You were always my beloved, now, at last, you will be my Bride

    We will no more fear the darkness, and the night will be like day;
For the Lamb in all His beauty, like a torch, will light our way
    And the gates of that great city never close to those who come;
Every nation brings its glory, to our new creation home.

  2. Please pray for BG. I am not sure what is going on yet, but she is an emotional wreck. Everything is drama, as I reported Saturday. Today she was on her way to school, she says a large truck was swerving into her lane and she swerved right, hit something and knocked the mirror off the side of her car. She called sobbing. I told her to calm down, it wasn’t the end of the world….after all I have suggested to the local body shop that they give her a punch card. She would be close to filling it up and getting a freebie. I was going to deal with her when she gets home from school but now I will be at the beach.

  3. Kim, high likelihood she was texting or otherwise engaged and made up the truck. That is what my daughter did anyway. Much later she acknowledged falling asleep while driving. This is the daughter who was working and schooling forty eight hours straight and then sleeping for a couple of hours. We all told her she was endangering herself but she is young and invincible.

  4. My daughter, who has removed herself from relationship with me, believes everything her boyfriend tells her. He told her he was friends with some famous country singer and the singer had invited him and her and my son who lives there, to his home in Tennessee or wherever for the weekend. He sent them plane tickets. But at the last minute something came up and he had to cancel. Daughter with him this daughter is living, doubted that and looked up the guy. He was in concert for the entire time of the “visit” in Montana. No chance that was a last minute decision. So, clearly, somebody is lying. We are hoping it will open daughter’s eyes, but at this age and being so gullible and so wanting to be loved, it may not happen. Prayers for her as well, and for son who is also living there. He was extremely attached to son who is still living here and nobody has heard from him at all other than through what this daughter tells people. Scary times for young folk looking for life in all the wrong places.

  5. I have already prayed for BG once today.
    Will continue.
I am looking forward to “All things new”. I didn’t understand my dad when he said that. And you likely don’t understand it either. But it’s a real manifestation of the hope we have.

For now, I would settle to have my energy and my woman back.
She still has her sweet personality. Some say it changes, but it hasn’t
She just isn’t there, that’s all.

  6. What is that saying? None are so blind as those who will not see. Despite your friends telling me that I had to watch out for sunburn in Idaho because I was closer to the sun and Michelle’s husband getting a couple over on me last week, I am not really all that gullible. I don’t repeat anything I am told until I verify it several different ways. I trusted what someone posted on FB the other day because I knew them. I found out I was wrong. I suppose I have trust issues. I don’t believe it until I see it in most cases.
