Prayer Requests 4-28-16

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 15

¹Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? Who shall dwell in thy holy hill?

He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart.

He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour.

In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not.

He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.

  1. Prayers for reconciliation between my brother and my mom. This Mother’s Day will be two years since they’ve spoken. My mom is heartbroken over this and has attempted to apologize through letters and email, all of which brother refuses to even read. With her health continuing to decline and her back surgery tentatively scheduled for the week of May 10–I wish they could resolve this.

  3. That reminds me of my friend Sue’s prayers for her three daughters (in their late 30s to early 40s). The older & younger are very close, but both are estranged, for different reasons, from the middle daughter.

My own daughters are not estranged, but they don’t have much of a relationship. My prayer is for them to start to appreciate each other & grow closer.

Ha! I almost forgot about my own estrangement from my brother, my only sibling (or rather, his from me – it wasn’t my choice), & his family.

Forrest has tummy trouble today (vomiting & some diarrhea), so he’s home from school. Poor little guy. (Emily is scheduled to work later today, so she is with him for now.)

  4. Heavenly Father, You are our support during tough times and I thank You so much for that. We never have to feel alone as circumstances, diseases, hurts between family members, natural disasters, terrorism, and declining morals of society, among other things try to bring us down.

I lift up all the ones who have been mentioned here for prayer and those unmentioned. Especially, I lift up the unsaved such as Hillary’s friend who needs a little raise to show that You are showing favor, care, and love even before she fully turns her heart to embrace You. Please work saving graces into the lives of Emily, Chrissy, BG, and others like the Nestling that may be struggling at times, and Annms’, L, and other siblings, parent’s and friends and coworkers, and AJ’s neighbor. You know all the connections. Please bring some to salvation really soon. The weight has been so long.

I pray You will give comfort, peace, and a clear path through these rocky days in Kbells life. Please be her unfailing strength to which she can hang onto for sustenance physically and spiritually. Bless her family as they learn what works best to show care and love for her. Please give good management through her doc’s and medical personnel. May she know the blessings of love and friendship during her times of feeling needy and unable to give. Help her to relax into receiving through people what is gifted to her through Christ. Thank You for giving her good recouperation from treatments.

I continue to lift up Chas and Elvera. Please help her to grow stronger day by day, and to get back to where she was on the cognitive level. Please give Chas needed help as he does have too much on his plate right now.

Thank You that Michelle and Kim got to visit and share good times. Thank You that Michelle is finalizing her Biddie contract. Please give her and her husband continuing good weather for their travels. And thank You that Mumsee’s Mike earned his new upgraded license. At least some encouraging things are happening among the otherwise challenging times.

Lord, there is always so much more. You know the needs. As always, I know You are working out Your best plans. Thank You. I put my trust in You. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  5. Just as it is difficult to keep them from “chew” when the town is filled with nicotine users, it is difficult when the adults think it is just fine for the children to drink. Son says the town mayor (who also attends our church) offered the boys some sips a year or two ago. The friend’s parents provide alcohol, expecting the children to turn away those who will over indulge, not thinking that any indulging by under age people is overindulging. Older siblings offer it. It is non stop. And for children who come from homes that were destroyed by it, I think it is more than criminal.
