I am sure all of us have Elvera in our prayers right now…and you too, Janice. I would rather be almost any kind of sick other than the throw up bug. I hope you are feeling better. Maybe when Janice is feeling better she can write out one of her beautiful prayers for us, but until then you all know I find comfort in the Book of Common Prayer
O God, the strength of the weak and the comfort of sufferers:
Mercifully accept our prayers, and grant to your servant Elvera.
the help of your power, that her sickness may be turned into
health, and our sorrow into joy; through Jesus Christ our
Lord. Amen.
Thank You for sustaining Your children through all the passages of life. We have good times, blah times, and some traumatic times. As You watch humankind, You have seen it all. There is nothing new under the sun, as King Solomon said. And yet these passages are new to us. Sometimes we are prepared more than at other times when we feel shocked. A lot of us are facing new life situations brought on by growing older, children moving on to new stages, and the trials of disease and illness that requires new coping skills.
In particular, today I lift up Chas and Elvera. Please bless them with Your comfort, peace, and healing. I pray healing for both for when one is sick, it makes the other ache and feel sick with empathy. I pray for Elvera to drink lots of fluids to keep away dehydration and to speed the meds to where they are needed. Please help her lungs to quickly clear the disease and for her to regain strength. May she feel so much better soon that Chas will feel TSWITW has returned full force with a bit more speed.
Please help Kbells as she struggles with compounded problems. It seems one problem at a time would be enough, but sometimes You allow more. May it be an occasion for You to show You are greater than a pile of health problems. Please increase Kbells faith to see her through while You are conquering the health issues that have entered her life. Please help her family to rally around and give her support with good attitudes.
Please continue to bless Kim an BG as they prepare for their trip. I have already prayed earlier that You are preparing a good way for them with the best outcome. Thank You that You are a Leader who goes before and clears a way to goodness.
Please be a force for good in Jo’s classroom as she fits two new students into her class. You know their needs. I pray they are joyful students who bring balance rather than turmoil into the room. Enlarge Jo’s skills as needed to accommodate these new boys. May they make new and good friends quickly.
Lord many others could be prayed for, but my time is limited. Perhaps later I will find more time for prayer.
Blessed be Your name, Jesus! Long live, or rather Eternally alive, King Jesus! Amen
Two new boys tomorrow, Finnish and Dutch
