Good morning Aj and everyone else that might be stirring around.
I’m still waiting for the Old Mean Momma to get ready for the Y. She is exceptionally slow this morning.
I have been up for awhile. I made sure Art had some food for any chance he may have to vaporize it today. Maybe if he just leaves it out on his desk, the aroma will sustain him.
He told me when he pulled into the driveway late one evening this week, he saw an opossum scurry under my car. Not much food under there.
My car is not right. The open door indicator light is on again and the doors won’t lock with the key fob although they unlock with it. And interior lights are not on. Seems I will have another go around with the dealership, but I may wait until after the tax deadline Monday to get back on that merry-go-round.
I enjoyed a tele conversation with brother about how our old stomping grounds have changed. I told him that sometime we just need to take a ride around the areas we use to frequent. It’s not like it’s far from where I live now, maybe eight miles or less.
Good Friday morning…what a beautiful duck…the colors are so distinctive….must be a male…they are always the more colorful aren’t they?
I’m off to work, we should be having thunderstorms before the snowstorms….lots of wet around here…we’ll take it…the last of the snow in the meadow melted yesterday…it’s been there since October! Behave yourselves…and have a most blessed day! 🙂
Another in my series on Julia Sugarbaker. I am reading and re-reading what my friend wrote to me so that I can think I am worthy of something good (perhaps a new career) coming into my life.
But really, Kim, I hope you are not quite at that level of intensity. And I hope she was using plenty of mouthwash, breath freshener, and such during that scene.😁
Also remember there was a whole show built around that 2 minute clip. What is compressed and sounds intense probably wasn’t with 20 other minutes around it.
Had a very vivid dream about my parents early this morning and woke up crying. It was great to see them again, but I’m so sorry it was such an elusive vapor.
Still, God is good to bring their healthy, happy faces back to life even if they didn’t say anything. A comfort. I got up, cried some more and wrote a blog post that will run on Tuesday. Biddy dealt with a vision the other day as well.
Hooray for Friday. And hooray for hot showers & coffee to help get me awake.
We had a lot of wind last night and it’s supposed to pretty warm (near 80) for the weekend — I could already feel the warmth when I took the trash out to the curb early this morning.
Annie’s tests from the vet came back showing she has crystals in her urine so the vet wants me to bring her back for an ultrasound to make sure there are no stones (which could be more serious and could require treatment to break them up). That’s set up for early Wednesday. And she has to go onto a special diet.
Urinary tract issues are very common among cats, I know. But since I’ve not really had a cat (other than those we had when I was growing up) this is all kind of new.
And I was surprised when the vet said she was 9 years old according to their records. I had her at around 7. But I think the discrepancy was that the rescue person thought she was “about a year old” when I got her but the vet judged her to be either 2 or 3 years old when I brought her in for her first check.
I am posting this here rather than on the prayer thread because this would be good for anyone to share with friends who may be going through stressful times. It is another article on breath prayers. http://practicalchristianwoman.com/breath-prayers/
Let me tell you how it will be
There’s one for you, nineteen for me
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah, I’m the taxman
Should five per cent appear too small
Be thankful I don’t take it all
Cos I’m the taxman, yeah I’m the taxman
If you drive a car, I’ll tax the street
If you try to sit, I’ll tax your seat
If you get too cold I’ll tax the heat
If you take a walk, I’ll tax your feet
Taxman! …
Well, Donna, you are right timely! Bingo! 2 songs about death…death and taxes. Can’t have one without the other. Taxes cause death to your checking account if nothing worse.
Janice, I didn’t quite know what I was doing until I read your link, but I often use the “breath prayer” of Be still and know that I am God.
Breathe in -Be
Breathe out.
Be still
Be still and
Be still and know
Be still and know that
Be still and know that I
Be still and know that I am
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am God
Be still and know that I am
Be still and know that
Be still and know
Be still and
Be still
Be
I have fallen asleep doing this outside in the sun. They say if you are “meditating” on something and fall asleep you needed it.
That’s the first time, ever, that I have heard that song. Probably the last.
But if you stick with it until the end, you have a good choice of Patsy Cline.
I just received an order from L L Bean. My brother wanted a Cordova belt for his birthday which many places don’t sell, but he knew they carry it. While at their site I found some pull on knit slacks for $15.99, regular price $44.95. I just wanted anyone who might be in the market to know. These are not skinny leg pants. They are roomy, good for home and to the grocery store, etc. Shipping is free, but may depend on size of order.
Another earthquake in Japan? I know they are known for their earthquakes but it almost makes you wonder what N Korea has been tossing out there. Son says he got a notice on his phone to get out of the building seconds before it hit and left the buildings. If they had dogs, they would probably have known hours before.
I am reading through the NT and also a psalm a day. This morning’s was psalm 46 and I thought that it would be good to memorize psalm 46:10
Be still, and know that I am God.
I will be exalted among the nations,
I will be exalted in the earth!
time for a break, Peter.
sorry to feel the opposite, but my refunds came this week.
I now have more in savings than I owe on my home loan. Okay, I don’t want to make anyone feel bad or brag, but when you took out a home loan in 1974 and have had it ever since, it is very exciting to be near the end after 42years.
It’s funny that he posts that the year after we had the best movie year in many years! Yeah, it does sound a bit reactionary. There are good movies and there are bad movies, and unbelievers aren’t always going to make movies using Christian standards. (And movies made by Christians are often horribly cliched and predictable.) I’m very careful what I see and go to few, but 2015 was actually a good year for movies.
It’s FRIDAY
You know what that means?
Good morning Aj and everyone else that might be stirring around.

Morning Chas. Glad that you are waiting so patiently!
I am surprised that this group is so slow on this Friday evening.

I am no where near that level of intensity. That is why I am watching it, so I can at least reach zero because I am in the negatives

Ah, death and taxes, hadn’t thought of it that way! How unintentionally clever I am.
The Lights Out in Georgia was played on an endless loop on some radio stations in the ’70s as I recall.
