  1. Well, yeah …

    http://hotair.com/archives/2016/03/29/good-news-millennials-bolt-from-socialism-once-they-become-employed-and-start-making-money/

… Once Millennials get jobs–their support for socialism drops dramatically as they become more economically conservative. Fancy that; once you start getting an actual paycheck after working yourself to death–and see how much is taken out by Uncle Sam–income redistribution really doesn’t seem like a charming idea, huh …

If Trump’s support is softening — and it looks like it is — I have hope that he won’t wind up being the nominee. It will leave it wide open (I hope). (I will vote for Cruz in a general election, but still have serious qualms about how effective he’d be as a general election candidate, I just don’t sense much broad support for him, even within the GOP, let alone among the many independents he’d need to win — he’s basically the last man standing, though — for now anyway.)

Donald Trump said Tuesday that he would no longer honor his pledge to support the eventual Republican nominee for president, while fellow candidates Ted Cruz and John Kasich refused to say whether they would back the party’s pick.

All three GOP contenders appeared at a CNN town hall in Milwaukee one week before Wisconsin’s April 5 primary.

When asked if he would keep the pledge he signed last September, Trump responded “No, I won’t.” The real estate mogul explained that he was taking back the pledge because, “I have been treated very unfairly,” and listed the Republican National Committee and party establishment among those he believes have wronged him.

Cruz, who is running second to Trump in the delegate race, shrugged off the question of whether he would support Trump in November, saying “Donald is not going to be the GOP nominee. We’re going to beat him.” The Texas senator added that nominating Trump “would be an absolute train wreck” and “would hand the general election to Hillary Clinton.” …

  3. Ah yes, the MSM, covering for Democrats for decades….

    http://newsbusters.org/blogs/nb/curtis-houck/2016/03/29/abc-nbc-fail-cover-judges-ruling-judicial-watch-against-hillary?utm_source=facebook&utm_medium=marketing&utm_term=facebook&utm_content=facebook&utm_campaign=ABC-NBC-JudicialWatch-Hillary

“One day after the networks failed to acknowledge to big developments on Hillary Clinton’s e-mail scandal, ABC’s World News Tonight and NBC Nightly News similarly punted Tuesday evening on a federal judge’s ruling that granted the group Judicial Watch discovery powers in the lawsuit concerning the response of Hillary Clinton’s State Department to the deadly 2012 Benghazi terror attack.

In addition to the English-language networks, the top Spanish-language networks Telemundo and Univision also ducked this issue and censored it from their Tuesday evening newscasts.

According to Judicial Watch, U.S. District Court Judge Royce Lamberth awarded them “limited discovery” to seek out “evidence of government wrong-doing and bad faith” despite it being “exceedingly rare in FOIA cases.”

The most significant element to this successful request will be the ability for there to be legal depositions taken of State Department advisers relating to what transpired in Benghazi and including the now-infamous Sunday morning talking points for then-U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice.

While two of the three major networks refused to mention this, the CBS Evening News reserved the final 16 seconds of the newscast’s segment on the Democratic campaign for this development.”

I guess they haven’t received their Dem talking points from the Hillary campaign to run with yet. These things take time….

  5. I hope Cruz can broaden his appeal if nominated. He’ll have to.

Kim, I saw those Trump headlines about punishing women who get abortions. Just when you think he can’t say anything stupider … He does!

  6. Don’t underestimate Bernie Sanders’ appeal. Not only is he popular among many Democrats, but also among many Independents, even – amazingly – among some Libertarians.

  7. And the R’s are still the minority party, the Dems will pull out all the stops.

Even if we avoid getting Trump as a nominee, the GOP is in a very weakened position right out of the gate this year.

  8. And, yes, Sanders might be a tougher opponent than Clinton.

Things can change, but at this stage I’d say the Democrats will likely keep the White House (wonder when they’ll change that name? 🙂 ) for 4 more years.

  9. I don’t actually blame Trump for these kind of statements which show he has zero knowledge of the Constitution and conservative principles regarding limited government and Federalism.

I do blame so-called conservatives such as Jeff Sessions, Ben Carson, Little Jerry Falwell or Robert Jeffress for endorsing such a candidate. Then again, maybe they are as ignorant as Trump.

  10. There’s a theory that Trump is trying to escape this whole thing and is torpedoing his own campaign — never thought it would go this far.

He is saying and doing such outright stupid and lame things, it makes you wonder …

  11. One of the interesting aspects of this campaign is how many conservatives have switched from Fox to CNN to get balanced coverage of the Republican race. This is widely discussed on Twitter.

The insufferable Hannity and the pompous Bill O’Yankee, along with Gretta and several of “The Five” are in the tank for Trump. I hardly ever watched Hannity or O’Yankee, but I used to like The Five.

Limbaugh is also having to walk a fine line. He can anger the literate portion of his audience by saying nice things about Trump, or risk losing his low information listeners by favoring Cruz.

The Reagan/Bush divide lasted for decades in Republican circles. The Trump/Cruz divide would appear to be even wider since Trump is arguably to the left of Big Bush. However, Trumpsters are really members of a cult of personality rather than adherents to an ideology. They will be easy prey for the next demagogue to come along.

  12. I have had problems with Hannity & O’Reilly for a while now and won’t watch them generally — I’ve found myself going more toward CNN recently due to the Trump issue also.

I still like Megyn Kelly, Bret Baer (and in general the news side of Fox, Brit Hume, Chris Wallace).

But the Fox commentators lean too far right (or too far *something* — now basically too far “Trump”) for my tastes. I really don’t like knee-jerk commentators.
