Prayer Requests 3-21-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 131

¹Lord, my heart is not haughty, nor mine eyes lofty: neither do I exercise myself in great matters, or in things too high for me.

Surely I have behaved and quieted myself, as a child that is weaned of his mother: my soul is even as a weaned child.

Let Israel hope in the Lord from henceforth and for ever.

  1. Lindsey has struggled, off and on since age eight, with anxiety. For quite some time, it’s not been an issue. However, last night, she told me that any time she tries to do anything, she’s experiencing severe, debilitating anxiety. Unfortunately, anxiety and depression are very prevalent in my family of origin and Scott’s mom has anxiety as well. Lindsey hates doctors and only takes medication reluctantly–so I knew her symptoms must be bad when she requested to see a professional…
Today will be her first day back to school after being out for eight days. Her school is the sixth largest high school in Texas–the halls during passing periods are crowded and chaotic. Please pray for her and for wisdom for me.

  2. Heavenly Father,

I lift up Annms’ s needs this moring regarding Lindsey. I pray that You will light the way to the best help possible. This has been quite a difficult time with the concussion situation and missing school, and just the age and stage she is at. Please help her emotional/mental state to calm down so she does not feel so out of control. Help her to fully put trust in You that You are for her and have good plans for her that continue ever sith a few setbacks. In Your grip, setbacks are just a readjustment to make things even better. People were convinced the cross was a final setback, but we see what You did with that! Thank You for helping Lindsey to rise above her troubles and concerns. Help her to feel ok with taking a med if it is needed. May she be willing to follow all reasonable instructions from her doctor. Please give Annms peace about this matter and help her allergies to quit bothering her with all those symptoms. In Jesus, Amen

  3. Thanks. She is not telling us anything. She insists she needs no support and wants to do it herself. Makes me wonder if she made it up to impress her friend and when her friend told us, it blew up on her. That would be nice, though it would indicate deeper mental and emotional health issues.

  4. That is the situation I was thinking of. Though it could well be she really does have a problem. My brother and his wife would go talk with her and help her figure it out but he is helping his son and family move down from Alaska.

  5. It is especially odd since she has not hesitated to ask for help with all sorts of things in the past. Though one of her friends told us she was cutting and she denied doing it currently though she did in the distant past. Truth is so hard for these children. Which, in turn, makes things very challenging for us.

  6. A simple thing: I am taking lunch for the teacher’s today. I have no idea who will come. It is a conference day. Please pray that God will use this to bring us together in His way.
I did inform everyone via email and last Friday went around inviting those that I could find.

  7. It was a nice lunch. I made another batch of the meat sauce this morning. Then I had enough after our lunch was over to go find all of our paid staff and tell them that I had food for them now. They always appreciate food and eat heartily. Probably would not have been culturally appropriate if I had not had food for them.
