Prayer Requests 3-3-16

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 115

¹Not unto us, O Lord, not unto us, but unto thy name give glory, for thy mercy, and for thy truth’s sake.

Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is now their God?

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

Their idols are silver and gold, the work of men’s hands.

They have mouths, but they speak not: eyes have they, but they see not:

They have ears, but they hear not: noses have they, but they smell not:

They have hands, but they handle not: feet have they, but they walk not: neither speak they through their throat.

They that make them are like unto them; so is every one that trusteth in them.

O Israel, trust thou in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

10 O house of Aaron, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

11 Ye that fear the Lord, trust in the Lord: he is their help and their shield.

12 The Lord hath been mindful of us: he will bless us; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron.

13 He will bless them that fear the Lord, both small and great.

14 The Lord shall increase you more and more, you and your children.

15 Ye are blessed of the Lord which made heaven and earth.

16 The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord‘s: but the earth hath he given to the children of men.

17 The dead praise not the Lord, neither any that go down into silence.

18 But we will bless the Lord from this time forth and for evermore. Praise the Lord.

  1. Please pray for physical healing for Lindsey. She is still having symptoms from her concussion. Yesterday, the school nurse called because she needed more info from the neurologist. Neurologist’s nurse spoke directly with school nurse. I then got calls from both nurses telling me that neurologist wants her on complete cognitive rest until she’s symptom free…and, that in order to return to school, she must have written clearance from neurologist. So, I picked her up around noon and she’s resting now. She’s still feeling nauseous and has a headache, though pain isn’t as severe now.

  2. I am so sorry to hear that. We had a little scare with BG yesterday. She went for her check up with the endocrinologist and her potassium level was 6. Normal is in the 3-5 range. That could have been a symptom of several things, but thankfully when they drew blood again yesterday and retested it it came back normal range. Obviously a lab mistake. I do have to call the nurse this morning and get the rest of the details. “Motherhood ain’t for sissies that’s fo show”!

  3. Prayer for wisdom on eighteen year old son. Well, all of the eighteens, actually. The oldest of the three bought a pack of cigarettes when he turned eighteen and promptly lit up in older eighteen year old’s car. She saw and let him out at the top of the grade, told him he was never to do that in her car again. He was so embarrassed, he quit the cool thing. Then he went to the new place of work, where the guy and his dad offered him alcohol. He had several but apparently felt quite guilty about it. The guy mentioned it to me and I told him it was obviously son’s choice as he is no longer living at home. They would certainly be his consequences and the guy’s (he is twenty one), not mine. Little birds tell me he is no longer drinking but we will see.

Eighteen year old daughter continues to tell us how we don’t care. She has alienated her bio brother and sister and unfriended them. But she keeps in close contact with other eighteen who is the one we are struggling with at home.

    Children.

  4. Heavenly Father,

Today we choose to look to You knowing You are our first and best source for good help. We have various reasons to pray over our children and other young ones in our lives.

I lift up Jo as she daily plans, prepares, and follows through in teaching the young students under her authority. Please help her and the students to each thrive. Daily may she be learning new skills in teaching, directing, and nourishing students ultimately through Your divine ways. Please help with any needs for supplies and tools to facilitate learning. May Jo at all times feel supported by upper level school employees and staff, and by parents of her students.

Please help Lindsey along the way to complete healing from her concussion. May she quickly be over the symptoms and have no lasting damage. Help Ann to keep Lindsey quiet and stress free while recuperating. Please give them good ideas for positive ways to occupy the time.

Thank You, Father God, that BG’s test is OK. Please help her endocrine system to remain stabilized over time so she will not have any long lasting damages from out of control levels in her body. Please help BG to live a balanced life to keep good management of her health.

You know, Father God, where each of the eighteen year olds in Mumsee’s life stands with You. Some need to be reeled in to focus their lives again on You as they have been raised to do. Freedom of age can lead to bad choices that ultimately lead to lives enslaved to addicting substances. Please help these young ones to choose wisely and say no to that which can harm them over time. May they experience minor disagreeable physical symptoms from indulging in cigarettes, alcohol, and drugs, especially if any of those are in line for addictions. May they learn through the negative experiences of others rather than the hard way.

I pray in my Savior’s name, Jesus. Amen!
