Please accept my humblest apologies for what I wrote yesterday to you. It was out of line, and there is no excuse for it. If you saw it and were hurt by it (I imagine you would have been), I am very very sorry. I ask for your forgiveness, and that of all who saw it and were offended.
To everyone:
Things at home got better last night. My husband and I are communicating with each other and working things out. We have discussed going to our pastor for marriage counseling (in the past, that topic came up, not last night, though), and we may still do that sometime. I thank you for all your prayers, for us and for our family, and would greatly appreciate if you choose to continue with them, whether or not I come with more prayer requests for our family.
Prayed for you, your family & all concerned in this early this morning, 6 arrows (I pulled a michelle and couldn’t go back to sleep for a good hour at around 3 a.m. — now, of course, I’m SO sleepy and wish I could just go back to bed again!).
Eighteen year old daughter (you met her in Florida, Kim), continues to make poor decisions. Wisdom for her and opened eyes as she steps into what could be really unhealthy for her or might be just fine.
6 Arrows, I was not offended by what you wrote which I read. I think what Linda wrote was put on the prayer thread so it would be more private, but it was not what one would expect to find as prayer support so it hurt your feelings. It was a public try at straightening out what was thought to be a blindspot that would have been better done in private. You responded back in like manner, on the public prayer blog. So we all deserve grace is the main thing. Let’s all walk forward in grace and chalk this up as a good learning situation in gentleness, appreciation of differences in expressions of help, forgiveness, and knowing that love, in Christ, bears all things and thinks the best about people and their intentions. I am not always able to do that myself, but it’s an excellent reminder of why I constantly need Jesus in my life.
My husband lives in a lot of pain. He rarely complains. He takes a lot of medications for the pain. I have noticed it effecting his memory and now I think it is effecting his personality. Things that normally wouldn’t bother him now irritate him and he is becoming less and less social. We are waiting on scans and other tests before we can move forward with the implant that will help control the pain and allow him to taper off the medications he is on. Please pray that things will go smoothly this Spring. He expected to have this surgery last year at Thanksgiving.
First Arrow found out today he didn’t get the job for which he interviewed last week — in his degree field. The age-old “not enough experience.” He’s pretty bummed.
So sorry to hear that, 6 arrows. The catch-22 of experience is frustrating. My mother always talks about all the people her father hired for his office. They could not get jobs for lack of experience. He would train them and they would go on to other jobs. That is way back in the first part of the 1900’s.
Kim, sorry to hear your news, as well. I know my husband has forgetfulness because of medication. It is stressful. Bad health is no fun for anyone.
mumsee, one can only pray it works out one way or another. 😦
Had I mentioned how grumpy Chrissy was on Wednesday, the day of Emily’s pinning ceremony? That was a big part of why, the next day, I asked prayer for her.
Today, she told me that she wished she could do Wednesday all over again. She said her anxiety was high, & her patience was low, & she feels so bad about how she behaved, especially towards Forrest. I hugged her & told her I’d been praying for her.
She’s in a good mood today, & being especially sweet with Forrest (whom she also apologized to).
Praises: at the Teen Centre last night I was watching two of my little girls running around having a wonderful time. One of them was the new girl who just was not settling in and had no friends. God, in answer to prayer, had me pair her at a separate desk (I have never given anyone a separate spot like this) with this other girl. The mom and I have both been praying for her and I also prayed for wisdom and God gave it.
The Leedahl family is also here this weekend and was at Teen Centre. I one point I was standing right behind Jon. He flew his family here from Goroka. What a testimony to the faithfulness of God. This is the pilot who had the accident last year – a year and four month ago – and lost his leg. He is now back and flying.
Kathaleena, that’s a neat story about your mother’s father. Wish we had more like him these days, willing to hire the inexperienced, as a stepping stone to their future jobs.
Karen, I never knew that grandfather. He died when my mom was in her teens. The family was Catholic. I believe my grandmother was a Christian.
My mother also told me they always had someone ‘extra’ living with them—in spite of the fact that there were many, many children. Several different elderly relatives moved in with the family at various times.
I suspect that was far more common in that day. There simply was no place for indigent women to go.

I feel antsy today. Nothing I can identify, just unsettled.

Kathaleena – That was very kind of your grandfather. 🙂 To your knowledge, was he a believer?
