Prayer Requests 2-23-16

Anyone have something to share?

Psalm 105:1-8

¹O give thanks unto the Lord; call upon his name: make known his deeds among the people.

Sing unto him, sing psalms unto him: talk ye of all his wondrous works.

Glory ye in his holy name: let the heart of them rejoice that seek theLord.

Seek the Lord, and his strength: seek his face evermore.

Remember his marvellous works that he hath done; his wonders, and the judgments of his mouth;

O ye seed of Abraham his servant, ye children of Jacob his chosen.

He is the Lord our God: his judgments are in all the earth.

He hath remembered his covenant for ever, the word which he commanded to a thousand generations.

  1. A friend called and said one of our good friends may be dying. She has cancer and has lived with it for awhile by going through many treatments. Please pray God will revive and restore her once again. Thank you.

Also, Wesley asked me to pray for him. He has a presentation today.

And stress is building up as the tax season moves along. Please pray for Art to get through it all ok. Thank you all for your support.

  2. Tomorrow afternoon is Emily’s pinning ceremony. She is so excited, & planning how she’ll do her hair & nails to look her best.

My prayer is that this will somehow draw our family closer together. More specifically, that Chrissy will be drawn closer to us, & feel more a part of us as we celebrate Emily’s achievement together. My concern is that Chrissy may feel some jealousy toward her sister. I don’t know that she does, but I do know she has other negative emotions about Emily (with good reason on a couple things, but still in need of letting go & forgiving).

  3. Congrats to Emily and may the rest of you have a wonderful day of rejoicing with her. Praying Chrissy will find her own niche and gift and work to develop it.

I have a praise and cannot wait to make it a rave. I did comment that my oldest daughter is pregnant and that there were many signs of Downs Syndrome. In addition, the baby had a heart issue. Today my daughter went to a cardiologist to discuss the situation. The heart is normal! Also, all but one of the sign posts of Downs have also disappeared. We welcome this baby as she is and know God knows what is best, but we are also happy to receive this news. Thank you for all who have prayed and will still pray.

Now if they could only decide on the perfect name. 🙂

  4. I asked for prayer for a man who plays music with the same group my husband does. He had hit his wife and then tried to inject himself (after getting out of jail and returning home) with too much insulin. He was put in a facility for whatever hours he could be. She has a restraining order against him. She is a fb friend, but we do not see each other often.

Last night he showed up unexpectedly at a jam the group was having at a senior housing facility. He had been asked to not play anymore, but will clearly not listen, which is par for the course. There is a history here, but I won’t go into that.

There is clearly something not quite right with him. He clearly does not believe he was the one in the wrong. It is a somewhat scary situation and does not bode well. Prayers for wisdom and for him and his wife. I don’t want to name names, but God knows.

  5. Prayers for above. Also, praises, too, for good news.

Karen, is there any activity that you and Chrissy could enjoy together like some craft project or listening to audiobooks, while you bake, etc? Maybe something she would not be able to afford, but that you offer if she will do it with you? If you do something fun together then over time she may be more receptive to your help in trying to get her back on track. Adult coloring books are the rage right now so maybe offer that and favorite dessert treat?

  6. Prayers and praises with all of the above!

For anyone who would like to pray specifically for each member of our family as we weather this virus that took hold, here is the report for today. (General prayers are, of course, welcome too.)

Husband: increasingly heavy cough; lethargy. He is staying home from work today. It takes a lot to get him to do that.

Me: backache when standing or sitting; increased coughing when lying down, otherwise greatly diminished. Sharp stabbing pain in rib cage area when coughing. Headache and fever gone; more energetic, but with shortness of breath when walking around. Stiff neck.

    1st arrow: HEALTHY!! PTL!

2nd arrow: doesn’t live with us, but she gets hit harder with viruses harder than any of the rest of us. Pray that she’ll be spared if this bug is in her area of the state.

3rd arrow: sinus headache, a little congestion, slightly increased cough, but overall feeling not too badly.

4th arrow: heavy, frequent cough; chest pain when coughing; has her energy back and has resumed normal activities.

5th arrow: sore throat gone; a little runny nose and slight cough starting today. Stil in good spirits.

6th arrow: extremely frequent coughing, sometimes with bouts lasting nearly half a minute. Despite that, she is up and around a bit more today and is playing. She moaned a lot of the night, though, last night, and awoke from a bad dream around 5 this morning.

Please also pray that my mother-in-law doesn’t get this. Hubby and 1sr, 3rd and 5th arrows went to visit her Saturday, and the youngest two who went started getting sick at her house, and my hubby the next day. MIL is 80 years old, and widowed last fall. Not something she needs to get.

    Thank you all very much.
