Prayer Requests 1-28-16

It’s Thursday, so don’t forget to pray for Jo, her students, and the people of PNG.

Anyone else?

Psalm 81

¹Sing aloud unto God our strength: make a joyful noise unto the God of Jacob.

Take a psalm, and bring hither the timbrel, the pleasant harp with the psaltery.

Blow up the trumpet in the new moon, in the time appointed, on our solemn feast day.

For this was a statute for Israel, and a law of the God of Jacob.

This he ordained in Joseph for a testimony, when he went out through the land of Egypt: where I heard a language that I understood not.

I removed his shoulder from the burden: his hands were delivered from the pots.

Thou calledst in trouble, and I delivered thee; I answered thee in the secret place of thunder: I proved thee at the waters of Meribah. Selah.

Hear, O my people, and I will testify unto thee: O Israel, if thou wilt hearken unto me;

There shall no strange god be in thee; neither shalt thou worship any strange god.

10 I am the Lord thy God, which brought thee out of the land of Egypt: open thy mouth wide, and I will fill it.

11 But my people would not hearken to my voice; and Israel would none of me.

12 So I gave them up unto their own hearts’ lust: and they walked in their own counsels.

13 Oh that my people had hearkened unto me, and Israel had walked in my ways!

14 I should soon have subdued their enemies, and turned my hand against their adversaries.

15 The haters of the Lord should have submitted themselves unto him: but their time should have endured for ever.

16 He should have fed them also with the finest of the wheat: and with honey out of the rock should I have satisfied thee.

  1. Heavenly Father,

Thank You for the beauty You put in the world that uplifts our spirits. Help us to always find moments to take it in, dwell in its loveliness, and give You thanks for Your creation, imagination, and regeneration day by day.

Abba, You’ve heard already many prayers lifting up Linda for Your divine blessing today as she goes through breast cancer surgery. At this moment as she is getting ready for that procedure, I pray You are calming her spirit with a steady peace that fear and anxiety can not break through. Also I pray that for all who love and care about her. Please guide the surgery team in every aspect so that every movement is geared toward complete removal of cancer from her body. May the healing power of Jesus be felt in every cell of her body strengthening the healthy cells and dislodging the cells that need to leave her body. I pray for ease in recovery. May there be no damage to nerves or other body tissue from the incision. May the wound have a good flow I’d drainage if needed, and may all followup antibiotics and other meds work exactly as hoped. Thank You for how You are planning for an excellent outcome from the planned surgery. In Jesus’ name, Amen

  2. 2 year-old Hudson at his birthday party, asked to be put on the counter at the restaurant. He slipped and, mom caught his head before he hit the tile, but his femur was broken. Taken to children’s hospital in San Francisco and surgery yesterday. He’s in a cast from his knees to his chest. Mom has three other children: 6 months, 4 and 6; husband has a low wage job and the family lives with her parents.

Not much money, tons of stress. They think Hudson will grow fine, but please, pray not just for him, but for this family. Mom was a member of our youth group 17 years ago, not sure where she is spiritually; she sought me out on FB.

  3. A hard week, and I’m struggling with insomnia and tearfulness in the night again…my daughter’s loss of her cat…my husband’s slow recovery from surgery earlier this month…and I lost a piano student this week.

This last month has been so hard, and I shouldn’t be surprised, but it’s all so very difficult at 3…4…5 in the morning.

And other times, too, but especially now.

Thank you for prayers, anyone who sees this.
