Forrest has another cold, & another ear infection. 😦
He gets very mucousy whenever he has a cold, which we think is why he keeps getting ear infections. Emily used to treat them with garlic oil, but that hasn’t worked lately. (She has decided to keep Forrest dairy-free for a while to see if that cuts down on the mucous.)
I just got an e-mail
Chuck’s wife, Linda is diagnosed with breast cancer.
Prognosis is good.
She recently had her thyroid removed because of cancer.
We all need Linda. .
Karen, do you all give Forrest Mucinex or Robitusin to thin the mucous? That is what we do as soon as it gets thick so that it drains and does not backup to give infections a chance to set in. Keep the gunk flowing with lots of water and staying right on schedule with the med.
I used to be an expert on ear infections. Thankfully I have blissfully forgotten what I knew. I had them as a child and they HURT. BG had them and had two sets of tubes put in her ears.
Emily used to treat his ear infections with garlic oil, which she made herself, but after a while, that stopped doing the trick. It may have (probably has?) something to do with the amount of mucous his sinuses create.
Emily is very much into more natural remedies, so she hates having to take him to the doctor for medical help. (But of course, she does what is best for him.)
Karen, that sounds like a good preventative measure, Emily’s decided on — dairy-free for a time.
Update on Carol from yesterday’s thread:
“Dave called me last night [Tuesday night] and said Carol was having a terrible headache which can be expected from a bleeding blood vessel and brain bruised. The tube which is in the top of her head to drain fluid out will be in for about a week yet. Carol is able to talk softly and fulfill commands. Dave said she looked better today [Tuesday] then yesterday [Monday].”
Could you guys whisper a little prayer for one of my piano students? Nine-year-old boy. Some trouble at home before he came to his lesson tonight. Can’t say much more. (Don’t know many details, anyway.) Thanks.

Yes, he is on Mucinex, but still very mucousy.

No word on how she is today [Wednesday].
Thanks for praying.
